September 13, 201015 yr Fleetball Rules As always, you must behave well in school in order to play intramurals. If you have a detention, you will not be able to play intramurals for 1 week from the time you serve your detention. If you get suspended, you will not be able to play intramurals until the next sport begins. For intramurals, the maximum number of players a team can have on the field is 6. If you have more than seven players, every person must be rotated into the game. Each player must sit out at least the equivalent of one set of downs. A team may play with as few as two players, and the game will be over the losing team gives up if they are getting beat too badly. In order to get 3 points for a loss, the losing team must play at least until the score is 6-0. If a team only has one player, the result will be a forfeit and 0 points will be awarded. On the kick-off, a team must pass the ball to their opponents. On a kick-off, when the ball goes out of bounds over the sideline, the ball goes to the receiving team at midfield. If the ball goes out of the end zone, the receiving team gets the ball one-fifth the distance from their goal line (20 yard line). On a kick-off, if the ball hits the ground and the receiving team can field the ball without dropping it, they can advance the ball. If the ball touches the ground after it is touched by a receiver on a kick-off, the ball is dead and shall be put in play at that spot. Blocking is legal only at the line of scrimmage. No down field blocking. No blocking on a kick-off or interception. The defensive team must be at least 1 yard away from the line of scrimmage. No punting. One 1st down can be made by advancing the ball past midfield. Any number of players may play in the backfield or on the line. Any number of forward passes may be thrown from or in front of the line of scrimmage. Forward passes may also be thrown on the kick-off or on interceptions. All players are eligible to receive a pass. Play is over when a player on the defensive team tags the player with the ball with 2 hands at the same time between the shoulders and the knees. An incomplete pass thrown in front of the line of scrimmage will be put in play at the spot where the passer threw the ball. An incomplete pass thrown from behind the line of scrimmage will be put in play at the line of scrimmage. The center may face any direction to hike the ball and cannot be offside. Any time the ball touches the ground, the ball is dead (except on the kick-off, before the receiving team touches the ball). If a runner falls down with the ball, it is down at that point. The runner may not get up and continue to run. Scoring: 6 points for each touchdown; 1 point for each extra point (run from the 3 yard line after a touchdown); 2 points for each safety.
