New competition on KH13.com Forum

23 days until E3 2011!
Today we're announcing a new competition for our forum! But first, the winners of our last competition... earlier, we asked you which characters would be involved and how in the upcoming game, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. We were happy to see such a variety of responses! The best three have been picked out, and are below.

Re:Chain of Memories, English cutscenes added

Higher quality versions of the English cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories have been added to our video archive. There are 99 cutscenes, and all have been extracted from the game, meaning they are in amazing quality and look clean due to the lack of subtitles. Kingdom Hearts manga, After Closing The Door added

After Closing The Door is a rare chapter of the Kingdom Hearts manga. This chapter, which is otherwise known as "The short stories SELECTION 1", can now be viewed at our gallery in English thanks to taimea. It deals with Sora, Donald and Goofy after the epilogue of Kingdom Hearts. The chapter can be seen below, in our gallery.

Problems & suggestions for KH13.com

We've created a topic on our forum where people can report any problems with KH13.com, or suggest any features you would like us to add. These will then be given an ID, and added to a list where you can track their progress. Hopefully this should allow for more improvements. For problems with the content on any games or media pages, please report to our Content Project forum.

Kingdom Hearts III and worlds, characters in Dream Drop Distance?

Couple of things today. Firstly, we've created a page for Kingdom Hearts III which comprises together everything we know about the game. You might have things you want to add to the page, and of course, you can do that here in our Content Project. Secondly, our worlds section is now complete. This includes a complete story synopsis for each world. Thanks to everyone who contributed! Now, we're working on characters and aim to have the majority done before E3 2011.
And now, we come to you with a question. Today's question is what characters do you think will be featured in Kingdom Hearts 3D, and what will their involvement be? As usual, give your answer at our forum, and the best answers will be chosen and featured on the website. We look forward to you participating!

With E3 2011 around the corner, what can we expect?

This is just a little update today to get you excited for E3 2011, as well as the many projects we have planned in the meanwhile. But first, what is E3 2011? Well, if you don't know, it's short for the "Electronic Entertainment Expo", which is an event held every year in Los Angeles where upcoming video games are often shown. This year's E3 is in only 29 days, starting on June 7 and concluding on June 9.
Last year, Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that he will be appearing at the event. Also, there is a possibility of other games being mentioned, such as Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep -Volume Two- or Kingdom Hearts III. This is sure to break the news drought we've been having, and KH13.com are determined to cover the event in its entirety.
However, that doesn't mean you have to wait 29 days for new content! As exciting as E3 2011 may be, we also have plenty of other things planned for you. These are outlined below.
- We are in the process of adding a blogs section and member gallery section to KH13. These will allow you to maintain a blog on our site, and upload all fan images you have made, as well as see that of others. The galleries will form the basis of our upcoming graphics competitions. Both sections are up and running at the moment, but are in the process of being styled.
- Another important feature we want to bring you is the capability to comment on all pages of the website. This means the videos, games, media and gallery sections. Although this has not been done yet, it is coming in the next week or so, so keep an eye out! This will allow better integration between the site and the users, allowing people to submit edits for pages and get more involved in our projects.
- Speaking of projects, a lot of work has been done in the Content Project recently. Focus has mainly been on the worlds section, however you are free to jump in and participate anywhere. We hope to have a lot more written by the time E3 2011 comes around.
So, there are some things to look forward to! As always, feel free to submit your suggestions and comments at our forum.

Weekly graphics and video competitions? What do you think?

KH13.com are considering two weekly competitions-- both a weekly graphics competition (where people can upload signatures, avatars and drawings of Kingdom Hearts), and a video competition (where people can upload their fan-made music videos, or perhaps some Kingdom Hearts parody). So, our question is, which of these competitions (if any. Or both?) would you be interested in, and would you participate? Secondly, would you like an area to upload videos on the website, or are you happy using YouTube? Let us know in the comments at our forum, and we hope you look forward to these competitions.

358/2 Days manga, Chapter 16 released

Just an update to let you know that Chapter 16 of the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days manga is now available to view in our gallery. Thanks to Taimea, you can read this chapter of the 358/2 Days manga for the first time. Keep checking back as we continue to update the site. We've listened and decided we are going to work on the videos section soon! Anyway, check below for the manga in our gallery. Also, all manga series in the gallery have now been updated with the cover pages.

KH13.com servers upgraded

Just to let you know what's been happening recently with KH13.com. There was some downtime earlier today due to us upgrading our servers to new ones that will be faster and more reliable. No posts have been lost except for those made during the upgrade earlier today, so feel free to continue posting on the forum (as the upgrade is now complete). Sometime over the next 24 hours, our resources will be increased, meaning much less SQL errors for KH13.

Some minor KH13.com updates

How's everyone enjoying the new website? Just a small update today, to let you know what's been done recently. Since our last update, where among other things, the poll of the day was announced, various parts of KH13.com have been updated.
- Under each news article on the homepage, the date the article was posted, and categories the article is included in now appear. This will allow for people to more easily find the news they want to find!
- Our site-wide search function has been updated, brought over to the new website's design. This search, which is accessible in the "menu bar" (the dark blue bar in the header), allows people to search the whole of KH13.com.
- Our forum's homepage has had a slight redesign, with links to different forum components moved to the top of the page. This includes the forum search, member list, status updates, staff member listing and active content features. You might not have been aware of these features before, so now is the perfect time to check it out!
- Incidentally, these pages are the pages we are currently working on making look sexy. So far, the forum search, member list and active content pages have been brought up to this high standard.
Keep checking back as we continue to update KH13.com! While today's updates were mostly to do with how things look, we have plenty of exciting new features coming up, such as comments on all pages, as well as video and image uploading sections. Exciting stuff, stay tuned!

Kingdom Hearts characters and worlds

Last week, as you would have seen, we asked you two questions. Firstly, who your favourite Kingdom Hearts character is, and secondly, what your favourite Kingdom Hearts world is. The best answers to these questions have been selected, and can now be read at our forum.
However, what you might not know is what's currently going on behind-the-scenes at KH13.com, as we work to revamp our characters and worlds sections of our website. We allow members of KH13 to edit these pages, so if you want to help out, we suggest you have a look at our "Content Project". The instructions are here. With the Content Project, you can report mistakes, add to pages, and even write whole new pages to be put on the website. Exciting stuff!
That said, even though a lot still needs to be written, there is plenty that we have done. Our games section is pretty much complete (however watch out for a page on Kingdom Hearts III soon), the worlds section is nearing completion with only a few bits and pieces missing, and many characters (although not all) have had pages written for them in the characters section. We'd love to see you get involved, though!

KH13.com upgraded to a new host

For the first time since March 2009, we have upgraded KH13.com's hosting plan to a more expensive "business" plan. While this might not mean much to you, hopefully, this should stop the random errors that cause downtime on the website, leading to a better experience for everyone.
