Recently in Japan, the Nintendo 3DS Press Conference press conference was held. Here, the Nintendo 3DS console was revealed to have a release date of February 26, 2011, but more importantly, Tetsuya Nomura appeared and spoke about Kingdom Hearts 3D. His revelations about this future game are as follows.
"Although it is a tentative name, we have included "3D" in the new Kingdom Hearts game title. It also includes "3", which implies that this may be the third iteration of Kingdom Hearts. You will be able to see what kind of game it'll be like from this tentative name. With the encounters, and the contacts with others, as the game's theme; you will grow with the character, with the characters in the game. But it's not Sora with whom you are familiar with, this time. You will realize growth by the effects of someone else. It's a unique, or even a bit of a strange system that we are trying to build this time. There are limits on the things we can do in the universe of Kingdom Hearts. For the things we cannot do, we'd like to try them in other software. Starting from Kingdom Hearts, I would like to work on several titles for Nintendo 3DS."
The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine has included an interview with the director of the Kingdom Hearts series, Tetsuya Nomura. - After Re:coded, in 2012, it will be the 10th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. Nomura would like to celebrate in some way.
- However, Kingdom Hearts III will still not be out at this time.
- Birth by Sleep Final Mix will not match KH2 Final Mix+ in volume.

The trailer can be seen below, or downloaded from our video archive.
According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Tetsuya Nomura has recently engaged in an interview where he mentions Kingdom Hearts III, the next console game of the Kingdom Hearts series. Extracts from the interview, featured in EGMi, are shown below.
For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III. But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy. I’m thinking about what’s going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept. Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements… So, yes, I’m willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. That’s my concern.
Lastly, Nomura stated that he often has to “sacrifice my private time, my marriage, my family time” to stay on top of all his current projects. Regarding the future of Kingdom Hearts, all of this means that Kingdom Hearts III will soon be in the concept stage.
The ESRB have decided on a rating for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. Given a rating of E10+ for Fantasy Violence, the reasons behind this can be read below.
This is an action role-playing game in which players control a character named Sora, who must navigate a series of virtual fantasy worlds to decipher a hidden message. Players mostly use magic spells and a large key-shaped sword to strike and slash at creatures and classic Disney villains (e.g., Maleficent, Hades, Jafar). Some levels allow players to engage in top-down turn-based battles or traverse through side-scrolling levels while firing magic spells at waves of flying enemy creatures. Characters react to damage by grunting/crying out in pain or bursting into small orbs.
