Tokyo Game Show 2010, the major gaming event in Japan of this year, has begun. Located in, of course, Tokyo, the event runs for four days and will feature upcoming games. Both Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix will be shown.
Birth by Sleep Final Mix, announced only yesterday, will be an update of the original Birth by Sleep with extra features. From Sony's Press Conference at the event, and also Square Enix's newly opened official website, we now know that the release date for the game is January 2011.
In addition to this, a trailer was shown. HEARTSTATION.ORG have stated that Final Mix will contain new cutscenes, bosses, and a "Secret Episode revealing secrets of the series". Also, in the Mirage Arena, Monstro will be available as a world, and Master Eraqus will be able to be fought in his armor. Photos of this can be seen below, in our gallery.
As for Re:coded, a trailer and demo were also shown. From this, the most significant detail is that the game will contain some new cutscenes, in particular a scene with King Mickey in Yen Sid's Tower. Seen below, a summary of the game's demo can be read.
The Re:Coded demo starts with Alice and Sora in a fight with the Queen of Hearts. In order to prove Alice’s case, you collect her memories. You collect one from the cage next to the Queen’s podium by lowering it and avoiding card guards. After that you enter Stage 1 of the 3D scrolling stages. You fight Heartless and avoid or attack blocks. You fight Trick Master in the same scroll style after Stage 1. Stage 2 is the same process but a little harder. Overall the gameplay is a million times smoother than the mobile original, it even seems upgraded from 358/2 Days. The command system is similar to Birth by Sleep in the way they cycle on the menu. Love all the new attacks, graphics all look better.
As Tokyo Game Show 2010 has only just begun, you can expect many more updates in the upcoming few days. Please keep checking back, and enjoy these updates.
