  1. Square Enix will release Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console in North America tomorrow.
  2. Looks nice but no chance they'd do that style. Keep asking Square Enix for it everyone!
  3. Completely different. They focus on retro games. They aren't big enough for that either, this PS4 port of VII was their first ever console port and that was only after doing the PC version.
  4. I got to interview DotEmu, a studio behind many Final Fantasy ports! http://kh13.com/forum/topic/94405-i-got-to-interview-dotemu-a-studio-behind-many-final-fantasy-ports/
  5. This month I was lucky enough to interview DotEmu, a French-based video game company founded in 2007. DotEmu have been working with Square Enix for many years now porting many classic FINAL FANTASY games to PC via Steam. Last year they also ported FINAL FANTASY VII to PlayStation 4, which was the third most downloaded PS4 title on the PlayStation Store in North America for December 2015. It also charted in Europe at #9. Their PC ports have also sold quite well according to SteamSpy. In the interview I confirmed with them what Square Enix titles they have ported, who they worked with at Square Enix, what it’s like working with Square Enix and porting these classic games and more. Big thanks to DotEmu’s CEO, Cyrille IMBERT for being kind enough to answer the questions, their Communication & Marketing Manager Jessica IRAGNE and the rest of the team at DotEmu. You can read the interview here.
  6. Many titles from Square Enix are now on sale on the PlayStation Store in North America including Final Fantasy XIII-2, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster on both PS3 & PS Vita. Want something a bit different? Tomb Raider and The 3rd Birthday are also on sale.
  7. I've said emulation is something I would normally fully expect for both titles. I'd be surprised if Dirge of Cerberus isn't one by the end of 2017. I already explained the problem with Crisis Core though, whatever licensing issues that prevented SE from releasing it digitally would have to be overcome. Not sure if you can change music for emulation and impossible to change Gackt plus anyway as it stands no PSP emulator yet and I'd be very surprised to see one this year or even next year. Not only does he say there isn't much demand for a HD remaster which I might add is a hard thing to do despite what some people think. He goes on to say a remake would be more worth doing which clearly isn't happening. In regards to KH, we were talking about how 2.8 will be available digitally. In terms of? 2.8 must have a digital version. PS4 requires one.
  8. Her review for X/X-2 HD was great imo but I'm bias there. But I agree her review here was bad.
  9. You know how Nomura works? LOL. Well if they don't that means they have gotten the rights. LOL. They wanted to remake VII. They were just too busy making Versus XIII. Tabata said no to a HD remaster so tough luck.
  10. Well Square Enix would have to pay him and who knows how much he'd be wanting. You said SE. Haha. And in regards to FF, they haven't done that many other major games on handheld and most likely never will again. Well if they can't get the rights they would have to. And again, Tabata made it clear, he even went as far to say he'd rather remake it and right now he's far, far too busy for that.
  11. Yes, Gackt. That rockstar that leant himself to Genesis. Their best selling handheld game ever? LOL. Dragon Quest IX has that honour. Actually, they haven't confirmed anything regarding 2.8's music. For all we know they got the rights or are working on getting the rights with Utada or they simply decided to change it. Lol. Tabata made it clear, he even went as far to say he'd rather remake it and right now he's far, far too busy for that.
  12. If the director doesn't want a HD remaster, it doesn't get one. That's how Square Enix works. Yeah, it is but if and when that comes out is another question and then Crisis Core has two potential licensing issues which are hence why they didn't release it on the PS Store. If it's the music then they can replace it like they did with Star Ocean 2. If it's Gackt then they're screwed. Trust me, I'd be all for it to be emulated on PS4 but it's very unlikely to ever happen right now.
  13. Yoshinori Kitase, the Producer of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- and head of Square Enix Business Division 1 has commented on the game via the Final Fantasy Portal App for today's 10th anniversary in Japan. You can read his comments here.
  14. Yeah, agreed. And so far I like all the franchises they're using.
