I guess it`s just me, OH WELL! -
I mean no, they don`t look alike but they both look cell-shaded to a degree, and they both look similar in the way that they approached it.

here look at this: pause it a 0:12 seconds. then look at Sora`s face in the new art and compare, I think there is similarity to the way they are drawn/animated.

well as i under stand it, the Japanese(Nintendo included) have this philosophy: if it ain't broke don't fix it. if it works then stick to it. that's why you don't see huge things coming constantly from Japan, it's because they have a very slow and deliberate way of doing buisness and it takes a looong time to take different stratigies. at least that's what i remeber reading let me know if i'm wrong.
