This way the story is always about the players choices, not just my plot. I want my RPs to be a story players write for the most part, so I want to be able to take care of all the issues that come with trying to collaborate with a bunch of people in improvising a story in real time. any story, so I try to give players in my RP the fun of being able to focus on that part, while I take care of the background work of pacing the plot and keeping them active if they get bored, letting them relax if they get too busy, and let them feel like they're progressing in a real story, not just improvising a never-ending tale of character talking and fighting.

(Also, sorry if my initial comment seemed uninformative. I wrote quite a bit more, but didn't realize that comments here cut off after a certain point. More or less I went over a shortened version of what I just said)

I gave an extended period at the beginning so everyone can get their character introduced. It'll be moving along the main section soon though.

Well I got my character introduced, and now I want to actually have some action. I cant wait to finally be able to do something in this RP other than introducing ourselves.

Not one, nope. I guess I've never really thought to do so. I'll see if I can type one up now and again.
