  1. Thanks for randomly making me laugh with your user name. Much appreciated.
  2. Gotta say, seeing both Nomura and Iwata sitting at that table got me a little exited.
  3. The cinematic fights really are the ones that I enjoyed the most. Human-sized enemies in general are also more what I grew to like. KH1: I'd go with Riku/Ansem and Chernabong. Kurt Zisa and Xemnas are definitely up there as well, even though they were a bit spammy. CoM: Whichever one I beat the fastest. KH2: Axel, Roxas, final Xemnas, and, I can't believe it myself, Jafar. Days: Nothing really stuck with me there. I'll go with Riku just for the scenery and general setting. BBS: Eraqus, Monstro and the Mirror. Coded: They were all equally fun.
  4. Honestly, I own most games in multiple versions already, so why not? Properly replaying these games on a high definition display instead of a CRT would be nice. I'd also love to play the DS titles without my hands cramping up. I'd buy them either way, but Final Mixes and at least updated models and textures (if not complete ports for the mobile ones) would be very much appreciated.
  5. I don't think there is any place for these kind of relationships in the entire series, save for the mildly implied triangle situation that got sorted out in the first game. It's about friendship, after all. The games have very pure and simplistic values and characters, so forcing them into socially and emotionally complex situations past their already existent struggles seems kind of moot to me. They can be close friends. Best friends. But adding physical factors, even if only implied, would completely crack down many of the game's well established concepts. Because, really, what is a relationship? We live in a word full of easy-going and polygamous people and think that you would agree that, if we had to, we'd rather put these characters in "perfect" and pure relationships. So what is this? It's really being close friends, being true and having emotions. But you can love and be in love (I'm aware of the difference, folks) with anybody without having to add sexual attraction as a factor. Other than that of course most of the characters aren't even developed enough (and thankfully so) to be engaged in such a commitment without it seeming extremely awkward and forced. Of course I'll leave you your opinions to have. I think KH is a series that's easy to see yourself in and reflect your past experiences or hopes for the future. Everyone is different. Let's just all be friends, please. TL;DR: I imagine real-life experience and other fiction (with a proper base for this kind of stuff) will change your view in the future, but please enjoy yourself. It's nice to see KH being a common factor and yet being enjoyed for so many different reasons by different people.
  6. I'm not too sure. The dialogues between the characters seemed rather forced. It kind of felt like they tried too hard to make them likable and give them depth so you would care for their eventual fates, but sadly tripped over every can of JRPG and modern Japanese animation cliché they could find. I still liked it, but in the end I just felt for the situation, not so much for the characters. The whole friendship just went right over my head. And no, I'm not missing the short time, circumstances and everything -- it just didn't work out for me. As I said before, I still very much liked it. I could have gone without and would have preferred a different approach, but it's fine. I'm fine with KH having bold and stereotypical characters. Even if it spawns a lot of terrible fan fiction I really like how we don't see the characters interacting on a personal level much. It leaves much to the imagination and really makes the symbolism of the whole series shine. If they were to really flesh out the characters after the Xehanort Saga I'd probably be all over it because my precious memories of the past parts are save and, well, I changed in these 10 years as well. It hasn't been so long for many of the characters, but seeing them grow while being true the the game's overall theme is probably something that I'd enjoy much more than some forced dialogue to make me care. And the somewhat self-containing part of the story, namely Xion, really isn't any better than what most other games offered. It's more engaging than Coded and most parts of CoM, but that's it. The secret reports definitely were the icing on the cake for me, though. Can't say I didn't get more out of this game than I expected and that it, starting in one game, overarching another and then leading into yet another game, was quite a ride for me and felt like a full experience. As far as well developed story and best script go, no, I can never agree with that. It's more of a bonus, complimenting what KH, CoM and KH2 already established as a fine story.. in my opinion at least.
  7. I can't remember, to be honest. Out of all Kingdom Hearts related sites this seemed to be the one getting the most accurate news fairly quick and a fine translation following up as well. It seemed a bit more trustworthy and "true", not looking like some other sites that just look like they're crawling for some ad-revenue with other people's content.
  8. As a fellow newcomer, let's have a pleasant experience here.
  9. Surely. The friend I started the whole KH mania with is even worse at managing his resources than I am, so he always passes on titles because he already spent every cent of his spendable income on tobacco, alcohol and ladies. The only other person would be my SO, who played and enjoyed all the games.. but isn't as much into exploring the story and gameplay to the extend that I am. Thanks! Though I kind of feel like I'd just be carrying letters for you to your peers who live in dangerous places... kupo. (sound of hands colliding) Thanks a lot! Though I'm kind of disappointed that you didn't tell me about your laugh. I kinda figured that is your thing..
  10. Heh, my teachers barely recognized my face. Employees at the closest Dönerbude and Saturn on the other hand knew me better than some of my classmates did. In all honesty though. I know how slow and inefficient education in Germany (first-hand experiences from Gesamt- and Hauptschule, second-hand from my social circle. I'm the only one without Abitur and the only one not studying at a Uni right now...) can be, so.. good work there. I think people compliment each other way too infrequently these days.
  11. You kind of remind me of myself when I was about 16. Please don't be offended, but I just had this thought and felt the need to share it. Your English though seems a lot more sophisticated than mine was when I was that age. From what I remember (which, thankfully, isn't much..) I could barely express my need to find the next toilet as quick as possible. Let's hope we'll have a good bearable stay here at KH13...
  12. It's quite fortunate that I've started the series with the German voices, really. That made me immune to any "damn, that voice is so unfitting"-moment I could have had otherwise. The same goes for the Japanese and English voices. I was introduced to them early enough to not mind either of these, whether they are good or bad or just cheesy. There's one English voice that I actually do dislike, but let's not get into that right now. KH3 with a German dub would be a nice breath of fresh air after the long hiatus, definitely. Sounds promising. Thanks for commenting.
  13. Oh, you're a fresh member as well! Welcome.. if that's worth something from a new person. My English isn't too good either, but I'm trying.. I won't mind mistakes. And your expression has been perfectly coherent up until now! My father was Italian and I carry two Italian names, but I never had the chance to learn the language.. might pick it up at some point!
  14. GZ on finishing your KH2FM+CM LV1 run! I think last time I had a go I stopped right before Roxas because BBS finally arrived.. Gotta clear that save someday.
  15. Hey, thanks! Glad that "our kind" is still out there somewhere.. haha. Not looking down on anyone, of course. It's just not my kind of thing. Thanks! And yeah, KH and KH2 have a dub. Many big voice actors in there, and rather fitting ones as well. They even have the guy who was Reno's German voice in FFVII:AC doing Axel's voice and all that. I'm not a fan of German dubs or dubbing in general, but this time around, they certainly paid attention. I might be a little biased because I was like.. 12? when I played the first game and couldn't tell between good and bad German voices and acting, let alone Japanese and English, but I'm sure you'll be able to have some fun with it. Also, if you ever need someone who's fluent in German to help you with something regarding the language, just send me a message. I don't have any teaching qualities, but I'm capable.
  16. November this year will mark my personal tenth anniversary of playing Kingdom Hearts. After the first game and CoM I turned into the kind of guy that would import the Japanese version, play it, wait for the worldwide release, get either the local one (the German dubs for these games are *the* shit, love 'em) or the American version, play the game again and then, if applicable, buy the Final Mix and play that for the rest of my days every year or so. Couldn't import this time due to the fact that I'm stuck with barely any savings left and looking for a new apartment in another city, but I'll fix that at some point. Rather obviously excluding 3D, I believe I'm somewhat knowledgeable about the overall story. Having challenged myself enough while playing the games I also believe that I know most battle systems inside-out, so if you ever feel like hitting up a random conversation about something along these lines, please be my guest. Other than that.. I don't care about "pairings" and "you're thinking too much into it"-character development. I use the term "fanservice" properly and don't go crazy for Aqua's boobs-physics or dirty fan fiction. I don't feel comfortable going into more personal matters for no reason, but you can AMA if you really want to know something. To sum it up, I'm a rather boring person, but if you want to have a friendly discussion or heated debate.. I'm there. Nonsensical small talk is fine as well. The only languages I feel like I'm capable of conversing in are German and English, so please keep that in mind. Have a nice day, everyone.
  17. I don't think so at all. CoM and Re:CoM were a lot less enjoyable to me and had way more flaws. If I wouldn't be a total sucker about everything Twilight Town-related I'd say even Days (especially the combat -- though the camera was superior to Re:Coded's) is a better candidate for "worst game of the series" Even without keeping in mind what Coded was, how it originated and all that, I was pretty satisfied with Re:Coded as a game. It's nothing to go crazy about, but for what it is, I think it's fairly good. The story is simple to follow for everyone for once, the (translated, can't talk for the original) dialogue is fun to read and has quite a bit of humour. The game is very self-aware, if that's the right way to express this. It's packaged really well. You can jump in and jump out. It's a proper portable game, with all its negative and positive points. While I've been relying on pity-hits in the Avatar Sector, it's a really nice thing to just play for 15 minutes on the train or something and then put it away. It's customisable through the matrix' cheats at any point, so if you haven't played the game for a while and just boot it up out of boredom, you won't be frustrated playing a 0%HP Critical LV1 run just because you felt up to the challenge when you first started playing. The combat is rather smooth. A lot more reliable than Days was. The different commands are a bit bold, but they execute very well. It never felt as stiff as BBS felt at times; it was a lot closer to KH2 than anything else yet (not counting 3D here), so that's a big plus for me. I can see how the lack of a full-blown KH story and the reuse of worlds can strike people as odd. Even some of the criticism regarding the gameplay itself I can perfectly understand, but I had a lot of fun with this game. I guess for casual fans, or all-out fans who expected something different this might not be as easy as it was to me. I can see how people would put this as the "worst game" or "least good game", but definitely have to disagree.
