From what I've read, Japanese are a little bit uneasy around a fluent foreign as they tend to think of themselves as a sort of exclusive group and they use their language to hide their true meanings and keep people out. I'm not so sure how much this is true for the younger generation though as they been exposed to the internet most of their lives.This was the point I wanted to make but instead ended up beating around the bush cause I didn't want to sound like a know -it-all.

He leapt over it and the two cats attempted to follow but not having the wind orb crash into said creature. The creature retaliated by swinging its tongue but Jude used his wind orb to cause the tongue to hit a different creature. This pattern went on until just about every single creature in the arena with the exception of the ring master was fighting each other.

Yeah, Americans love video games or so it seems. In my town, which although it isn't exactly small it's not a big city either, we have at least 4 different game stores 3 of which you can get older games at, the last one being gamestop which I have a love-hate relationship with. Heck even if you're town doesn't have a game store chances are pretty good that you'll have a walmart which sells video games (or in the case of my area a meijer)

Her parents could have been fluent in the language and she learned it from them, her friends could have been fluent in the language and taught her it, she could have self-taught herself. Trust me, there's a lot of different ways you can learn things. I think America and japan are the two biggest video gaming countries.

I was referring to the initial shock of hearing a fluent foreigner. As for the class thing, a good amount of people don't gain fluency from a class and Japanese language classes aren't nearly as common as French Spanish and German classes.

My best guess is that they were wondering where the heck a foreigner learned their language to the point of fluency.

I think that's because they're onomatopoeias are different than ours. some examples squeak(mouse)=chu aaaaaa (screaming)= kyaaaaa Tick tock= katchin katchin

She glanced over at the bird who had changed to a person and was now fighting a small group of soldiers. She noticed that one of the soldiers was about to sneak up behind the person, whom she assumed was a wizard by his use of magic. Quick as a flash, she drew her bow and shot the soldier right in the heart. 'People who don't play fair really annoy me.'

True for Lexaeus, false for zexion he gets a lot of speaking lines which help to develop his character. Have you played recom (he has a boss battle)
