  1. Chapter 2 is now up!
  2. Chapter 2 Destiny Islands- 11:45 “It’s almost time...” Mickey told Rex. “Are you ready?” Rex took a deep breath and let it out. “I’m ready, your majesty...” “Good.” he replied. He gave Rex a little shove. He looked back and the both smiled at him. “I can do this...” Rex kept telling himself. He walked up slowly. Just before he knocked on the door, Kyra came out. “Rex?” she said quietly. “What are you doing out here late? It’s almost midnight.” “I couldn’t sleep.” “Oh...” she replied. She looked out to the beach. “Rex?” “Hmm?” “Who are those two black figures staring out into the ocean?” “Oh,” he said. Rex gulped. He felt sweat coming down his forehead. “They’re... uh... inspectors.” “Inspectors?” “Yeah,” Rex lied. “Island inspectors.” “Huh,” Kyra said, getting a little suspicious. “I never heard of them. Perhaps I should ask them if everything is okay with the island.” “NO!!” Rex replied quickly. Kyra looked back at Rex. “No?” “They prefer to be left alone while they are working.” “Rex,” Kyra said quietly. “Are you feeling OK? You’ve been acting weird lately.” “I’m fine Kyra!!!” he shouted. She back away a bit. Rex hung his head. “You should head back inside. I’ll be fine.” Kyra gave him a hug. “Everything will be fine”. She left back in her house. “No...” he said. “No, it won’t be...” Rex noticed that Rowe was still up. Back inside Rowe’s house, he was tossing and turning. “Ugh!!” he said. “Why the hell can’t I fall asleep??” Just then, he heard a knock on his door. “Who else could be up this late?” he wondered. He put on a shirt and headed downstairs. He opened the door and saw Rex standing there. “Rex?” he said. “What are you doing here this late? It’s midnight!” “I know...” Rex said. “But, this couldn’t wait until the morning.” “Come on in.” “No,” Rex said. “It’s better if you step outside.” “Rex,” Rowe said. “What’s up with you lately?” Rex just kept on walking. “Rex!!” Rowe shouted. “Talk to me!!” He finally stopped. Kyra was watching the whole thing from her bedroom window. Somehow, she felt like she knew what was going on. She wanted to go outside so bad. She put on a robe and stepped back outside. She quietly closed the door and tiptoed closer. She hid behind a palm tree close enough to hear what was going on. “Who are these guys?” “Rowe,” Rex said. “I want you to meet Clem.” “Pleasure to meet you.” Clem smiled at Rowe. “Hello...” Rowe said, feeling awkward. “Rex, who are these guys?” “We are part of the war.” Rowe’s mouth dropped open. “Then, that means that you know where my father is!!” he said excitedly. “No...” Clem said. “In fact that is why I am here. We’re here to ask you for help.” “Help?” Rowe asked. “I’m only twelve years old. I’m too young.” “No, you’re not.” the short hooded figure finally spoke up. “Who are you?” Rowe wondered. He took off his hood. Rowe bowed down. Kyra put her hand over her mouth. “He’s actually here...” Kyra said to herself. “The king himself.” “Your highness,” Rowe said. “What... what brings you here?” “I’m here to tell you that your father has been taken as a war prisoner.” “What?” Rowe said. Kyra was also shocked. “How long ago was this?” “I cannot lie to you...” Mickey said. “It was three years ago?” “So,” Rowe said. “For the past two years, I’ve been thinking that he was fighting to keep this world safe from evil. But all along, he was captured.” “I’m sorry...” Clem apologized. “Truly...” “NO!!” Rowe shouted. “Why the hell didn’t you tell me this three years ago???” “Rowe...” Mickey tried to say. “We told to wait.” “BY WHO???” Rex hung his head. They all looked over at Rex. “Rex?” Rowe said. “You knew all along and you didn’t tell me?” “Rowe...” he said. “I...” “NO.” Rowe said. “I trusted you!!” “You don’t understand...” “NO!!” he shouted again. “I DO UNDERSTAND!!! I THOUGHT WE WERE BEST FRIENDS!!!” “I had to protect you...” “PROTECT ME???” Rowe yelled. “Who asked you to protect me??” “Your father did...” “That’s a lie...” “Rowe...” “Just...” Rowe interrupted. “Don’t talk to me...” Rowe walked away to his home. He slammed his door. Kyra stayed and watched the whole thing. Even she couldn’t believe it. She knew there was going to be more. he stayed until the end. “There’s got to be someway...” Clem said. “You guys need to talk to him.” Rex said. “When he says he won’t talk to me anytime soon, he actually means it.” “I’m sorry, Rex.” Mickey said. “We can’t.” “Merlin has forbidden us to convince him.” Clem said. “He won’t listen.” “Is there anyone else who he would listen to?” the king asked. “There is one person..” Rex said. “He would listen to her. She pretty much already knows what has happened.” “Great!!” Clem said. “Then get her to talk to him.” They both left. Kyra sat against the palm tree. “I know you’re there, Kyra...” Rex said. “I’m not stupid...” Kyra quietly came out. “You’re a very curious little girl, aren’t you?” “I had to know...” Kyra said. “I couldn’t help it.” “Next time,” Rex said. “When I say that nothing is going on, respect it.” “But, Rex...” Kyra said. “He’s my friend too...” “I don’t give a damn!” Rex yelled at her. “You got to learn to stay out of things that have NOTHING to do with you!!” “It does now...” “Whatever...” Rex said. “Someday, you’re going to regret being sneaky. You’ll find out the wrong information.” “So,” Kyra said. “What I’m getting here is...” “Yes,” Rex confirmed. “Everything you heard tonight is true...” “Really?” “Yes.” “But,” Kyra asked. “Why didn’t you tell him earlier?” “They trust me with the information.” Rex said. “My own father trusted me...” “Rex...” Kyra said walking up to him. “You must miss him, huh?” “He sent me here to be protected.” Rex said. “He was told to sent me here. He told me everything that was going on. I understood everything he asked of me before he went to war.” “What are you saying?” “Kyra,” Rex said. “I’m saying that my father grew up here. This was the safest place that he could think of at that time.” “Then, that means...” ‘Yes, Kyra...” Rex said. “Riku is my father...” Kyra’s mouth dropped opened.
  3. Chapter 1 “They have found WHAT???” a man yelled. “It’s true my lord,” a soldier said. “I sent a spy there and he said that they are sure of it.” “AUGH!!!” the lord slammed. “This news frustrates me!” The soldier just stared at him. “I know sir...” “We don’t need another warrior of that kind...” “They don’t seem to think that, my lord.” “Of course they don’t, you imbecile!!!” the lord shouted back. “They’re the good guys.” “Of course...” “Who are they certain of?” “Rowe.” The lord smiled big. “Koto’s son, huh?” “Yes...” “Let’s pay him a visit, shall we?” The lord got up and walked away to see Koto. Destiny Islands The week has passed since the cloaked men had visited. It was also Rowe’s twelfth birthday celebration. Rowe stepped outside. Outside, waiting for him, were Kyra and Rex, along with other people. “Happy birthday!!” Kisha said. She ran up to hug him. “Thanks, Kisha!!” he said smiling. He walked up to his buddy, Rex. “Happy birthday, big guy!!” “Thanks...” Everyone else said happy birthday to him. “Enough with the birthdays.” someone yelled out. It was the islands surfer dude, Leeko. “Let’s begin the celebration!!” “LET”S PARTY!!!!” someone shouted. They turned on the music and partied. Halfway through the party, Rowe found Rex sitting on a rock. “Rex,” Rowe said, sitting down, next to him. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing,” he replied. “Enjoying the party?” “Yeah,” he said. “It’s a blast.” Rex smiled. “That’s good...” “I can tell that something is bothering you.” Rowe said. “Talk to me..” “It really is nothing.” “You’re lying...” Kyra said, walking over to them. She sat down on the sand and stared at Rex. “No,” Rex said. “I’m not.” “You’re thinking about your home, aren’t you?” “Pfft!! NO!!” Rex lied. “Yes you are,” Kyra said. “I can tell. Your eyes are showing us that you are lying.” Rowe chuckled. “Come on,” Kyra begged. “Tell us about your home. You haven’t told us a thing about your home.” “That’s because I can’t remember anything...” “Is it because you don’t want to remember?” Rowe said. “Or is it because you completely forgot everything about your home island. “The second reason.” “You’re lying again...” “God...” Rex said. “It’s annoying how you can tell when a person is lying, Kyra.” Kyra smiled. “It’s a gift.” “Well,” Rex said. “STOP IT!!” “Rex...” Rowe tried to calm him down. Rex got up. “It’s getting dark.” he said. “We better get inside.” “Please,” Rowe begged. “Tell us. It’s my birthday...” “No...” Rex walked away. “What is his problem??” Rowe wondered. “I don’t know.” Kyra replied. “I don’t know...” They both walked inside. Again, Rowe was having trouble sleeping. This time, it wasn’t a continuation of the dream he had last week. It happened before his father packed up to leave. It was sunny outside. Rowe was outside playing with Kyra and Rex. Just then, his mother called him inside for dinner. They stopped playing and went inside. Rex followed. Kyra went home. Just before they went inside, a portal appeared. Rowe’s father looked up. He looked back at his wife and told them to keep the boys inside. He went forward to the guys that came out. “Mom,” Rowe asked. “What’s going on?” “Shhh...” she said. “Just eat your supper and your father will take care of it.” Outside, Rowe’s father was talking to the two figures. “I thought I told you guys that I didn’t want you here.” “This is an emergency, Koto.” “If you guys are asking me to join the war, the answer remains the same!!” he replied firmly. “Sora and Riku have been killed.” the other man said. Koto’s mouth dropped. “No...” he said. “That’s impossible.” “It’s the truth...” a man said. “I’m sorry.” “I can’t leave...” Koto said. “My family needs me...” “We know.” the man said. “But, you have no choice.” “What?” “King Mickey and Merlin have talked it over and have decided that it is time for you to join in the war.” the other cloaked guy said. Koto hung his head. “You have a few days to pack your things and join the war.” They went into the portal and disappeared. Koto put his hands over and face and sighed. He walked back inside. His wife knew what was going on. She began to sob. They hugged. Rowe was watching the whole thing from his bed room door. He had no idea what was going on. It was only 10:30, but he was pooped from all the partying he did all day. “Why has this been happening?” he asked himself. He got up and walked around. The portal appeared again. The same two guys came out. “Why are we here earlier than before, sire?” “Because,” the king said. “We are meeting a friend of his who will help us tell him, Clem.” “Who?” “Uh...” the King replied. “Oh, here he comes now.” A person walked up to them. It was Rex. He bowed down to the king and Clem. Clem felt special. “I love it when they bow down.” “Shush...” the King said. “Good to see you again, Rex.” “Same as to you, KIng Mickey.” King Mickey took off his hood. “Have you told him anything yet?” “No...” “Good...” Mickey said. “You are a very trustworthy person.” “Thank you, sire...” “Where is he?” “He is trying to sleep.” “He has been having trouble sleeping?” Clem asked. “Only when you guys are here.” They all laughed.
  4. I wanted to use more unique names in a story I wrote for once.
  5. I hope you will like it. The Next Keyblade Prologue It’s been five years. Five years since my father has left to join the war. I thought he would be back by now, I was wrong. He left when I was only seven years old. My mother died when I was nine. She died of sickness. That’s what the doctor told me. But, I know he was lying. I believe she died of lonesome. We both missed my father terribly, but she needed him more. I am all alone. I live by myself. I have no parents here on this island with me. But, there are still people on this island. In fact, the people on this island are pretty much my family, and I love them very much. They take of me when I need them. They are always there for me, including my best friends, Rex and Kyra. Kyra and I grew up on this island. Rex, well, no one knew where he came from. He never really told anyone. He kept some things a secret. But, I know some day he will tell me. Who am I, you ask? My name is Rowe, and I plan to join this war. I don’t care how old I am and I don’t care what anybody else tells me. I will find my father... Everyone was asleep. It was close to midnight. Rowe was having some trouble sleeping. He was dreaming about when his father left him and his mother when he was just seven years old. He walked into his father’s room. “Dad?” he said. His father looked over his shoulder. “Hello son,” he said. “You should go back to sleep.” “What are you doing?” “I need to go somewhere for a while.” “Where?” His father hung his head and sighed. He got up and walked up to Rowe. Then he kneeled down. “I am needed to help the others.” “But,” Rowe said. “You can’t leave!!! Mom and I need you.” “I know, buddy.” his father said. “But, I believe in you two.” They hugged and his dream was over. Rowe opened his eyes and laid there. He sighed and looked at the time. “Ugh,” he said to himself. “12:15?? I need to sleep”. He got up and took a walk. Outside his house, there was something going on. A black like portal opened up. Two cloaked figures walked out. One was short and one was tall and skinny. “This is where he lives...” “This is the same place as the other one lived.” the short one said. “Are you sure this is the island?” “I am positive sure.” The short one looked down. The tall figure comforted him. “This place reminds me of him.” “We all miss him...” the tall figure replied back. “This island reminds me of all three of them.” They were both silent for a few moments. They both turned around and looked out to the ocean. The waves were crashing onto the shores of the island. “It sure is beautiful out here at night...” The tall figure nodded. “When will he find out?” the short figure said. “Tomorrow,” the tall figure replied. “TOMORROW?!?!?!” the short figure said. “But, I thought is was next week!!” “Is that when his birthday is?” “DUH!!!” the short figure replied. The tall figure looked at his calendar. “You’re right,” the tall guy said. “I was mistaken.” “Phew...” the little guy wiped his forehead. “That will give us some time to plan.” The short guy took off his hood. He had big round ears. “So,” the short guy said. “Tell me Clem, how is the family?” “They are fine...” he replied. “I got a letter from them just a couple weeks ago.” “You did?” “Yep.” “What did they say?” “They are worried about me...” “Are they?” “They wonder how I am.” “Have you told them yet?” “No, majesty...” “You haven’t sent them a letter once you arrived?” “No...” he looked ashamed. He hung his head. “No wonder why they are worried about you.” The tall figure was silent. “It’s been six months.” the short figure continued. “Why don’t you go visit them?” “What?” Clem said. “A-are you sure?” “Of course I am...” “But,” Clem said. “You need me.” “Of course I do.” the king said. “But, your family needs you more right now.” “Thank you sir!!” he replied. “Thank you SO much!!” The king smiled. “No problem.” They hugged and went back into the portal. They felt good about having the boy become the next keyblade holder. They just hope they don’t make a mistake.
