  1. "Yo, Boulder, get over here!" Mike yelled playfully. Dane grunted, then crouched down. Metal plates shifted, and Dane launched himself along the ground toward the fire. His rolling made the ground tremble, and when he was right in front of the fire, he launched himself into the air, uncurling so that all his weapons were pointed down. An orange glow surrounded him, and suddenly he was falling very quickly. With ground-shaking force, Dane slammed on top of the fire. The flames were instantly extinguished by the gale-force air blasted from the point of impact. Dane stood up, retracted his right weapon, and dusted himself off. He gave a "Hmmhp!" of satisfaction. "Fire's out."
  2. Well, you owe me ten bucks anyway.
  3. I don't see why not. Go for it!
  4. Dane and Mike tensed as they heard a screeching sound echo through the air. "Nevermore." said Dane. Mike looked at his brother. "Cannon shot, go!" Dane extended his right arm until it was pointing at the Nevermore, which had flown into view overhead. Then Mike leaped up and exactly aligned his body with Dane's weapon. Dane fired his rockets as Mike released a sonic burst, sending the Bullet streaking toward the Nevermore. Mike kept himself on course, then at the last second held his arms by his side and released another burst. His head got a yellow glowing outline around it, and he smashed straight through the Nevermore's body. As it was falling, he made another burst that sent it falling onto the fire, extinguishing a large part of it. He alighted next to Joshua. "Always glad to kill two birds with one stone, pun intended." he said with a grin. "I appreciate your helping to put out the fire."
  5. I deliberately made it a difficult choice. It is a clash of ideals and fighting styles.
  6. The tentacles. . . They will make you VERY SLIMY!!!
  7. Name: Ferro Galdasdan Age: 25 Gender: male Affiliation: Red Hawk Appearance: mousy brown hair, black eyes, pretty thick eyebrows, medium height and build. Wears dark leather armor and a maroon hood with the Red Hawk insignia stitched on it in black. Wears heavy gauntlets of Disian iron. Weapons: Disian iron claws alight with blackfire, ice spikes conjured from Cania, tentacles grasping from the fumeroles of Minauros, passage through the mazes of Maladomini (short-range teleportation, defensive) Background: Trained in underworld magic by his uncle, Ferro uses unearthly powers to scour his enemies. He has a little bit of a superiority complex, both for himself and adept arcanists which puts him out of place in his country. It is what allows him to control his abilities, though, and so Ferro tempers it as if it were steel. He took to Wall Patrol as a way to get out of regular society and be with people he knows to be superior to the masses.
  8. Oh, one thing I didn't mention. Weapons technically can be used defensively. A defensive item like a shield is simply vastly superior. So don't feel like you have to have a defensive item to defend.
  9. Accepted! Told'ja I'd make it.

  11. How can two bordering countries develop in such different directions? The oligarchy of the Gold Lion and the socialist democracy of the Red Hawk. The martial warriors of the Gold Lion and the arcane scions of the Red Hawk. And two walls little more than a bow shot apart. This is the story of the Wall Patrols, how they lived and fought and died defending the border of their country. Sign-up sheet:
  12. Ferro's face fell as Vergyl spoke, and fell even more as he heard the message. "Whoever put that note there must have cared about me a lot. I s-shouldn't have let them down." Ferro closed his eyes and stayed that way for a few seconds, then opened them again. "I've decided I can't die yet. In my time, people would sometimes transfer their consciousness to robotic bodies when they got old. It was new technology, and expensive, but I was wondering. . . Can you do it to me? I can't let whoever it was down." And I think I might know who, Ferro thought.
  13. "So it was coincidence, then, our being frozen." Ferro settled back onto the table and clasped his hands. "I have a q-question and a request before I die. Ever since I was t-thrust into this, I've always wondered: who froze me, and why? Do you know, Vergyl?"
  14. "We used to be on the same team at Beacon. Team FABB." Ferro replied. "There was me, Aaron, Dane, and Mike." "How do?" Mike said as his name was mentioned. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Dane rumbled.
  15. Ferro got a peaceful look on his face. He knew the reasoning behind what the SA's did, and he knew how everything could be fixed. "And the reason we weren't taken was because we were all frozen. Tell me a c-couple things. Were we frozen so that we couldn't be absorbed, or was it just coincidence? And how did the S-SA's become tethered?" He felt like he didn't have much time left.
  16. A look passed between the short boy and the huge man when Aria gave her name. The boy gave he a strange look. "Asyr, huh? You got an older brother?" Suddenly, a figure alighted behind the boy and tapped him on the shoulder. The boy leaped probably twenty feet into the air, weapons ready, but when he saw who it was, he glided down and gave the person a hug. "Ferro! I haven't seen you since, well, since we graduated! How's it going, leader?" "Fine, thanks. I've been keeping an eye on that one." he said, pointing to Aria. The huge man set the twins on the ground, strode over to Ferro, and gave him a bear hug that lifted him off the ground. "Good to see you."
  17. "Well, there are Dust-proof rooms for that. Forests are for hunting Grimm! But not this forest, you know. This one is rather dangerous!" the short boy said, giving the two a remonstrating look. "But I'm not one for dwelling on mistakes. If you guys can start a fire like that, you should be fine." The boy looked over the big man's shoulders. That was when he noticed the other two people in the clearing. "Hey, a couple more! What are all your names, hey?" he asked all four of them.
  18. Despite the pain, Ferro managed a firm handshake with Derik. "Firmly, and look them in the eyes." he said.
  19. "In my time, there was." Ferro gave a pained chuckle. "My work had already gone to hell. The D-ppendage became banned all over space, as Rytt said. Try to recreate it if you can. You'll need a particle accelerator that can achieve speeds faster than light. And you'll need one small enough to fit inside a two inch by one inch area. Good luck." Ferro gave another wry smile.
  20. Ferro gave a wry smile to Derik. "I don't think so. Humanity can work to discover how to bend spacetime again. Besides, the D-D-ppendage caused a lot of trouble, or so I've been t-told. Ah-agh."
  21. "I really don't think you could incinerate me right now. We're moving too fast for the flames to catch! But no matter, we're landing now." The boy tilted into a vertical dive, and at the last second flipped over and landed on his feet with the twins in hand. "I've got the perpetrators, bro!" The huge shape turned and took the twins from the short boy. He stared them both in the eyes. "Why'd you go burning the forest?" he said in a surprisingly mellow voice for such a large body.
  22. "Leave me be, Derik. I deserve this, and I don't wish to continue living. Is it a better thing to live in pain than to die and have an end to pain?" Ferro eased himself onto the table. He felt like he didn't have much time left. "Tell me, Vergyl, about the end of days, for days are a human invention."
  23. "Look out below!" a loud voice yelled. A large shape crashed through the tree branches, landing in the midst of the fire. A shockwave slammed outward, dispersing the fire and knocking the pair off their feet. Amid the dying embers, a huge shape rose up. Over by the two fire-starters (Neko's people), a streak of motion crossed the sky, then arrowed down to land right in front of them. "Hey! You with all the fire! You can't just go burning down forests! What do you think would happen, the fire would stay contained?! No! Of course not! This forest is a precious part of nature! You two are coming with me!" With that, the rather short boy grabbed both of them by the back of their shirts and pulled them intot he air. Ferro looked down and spotted his pair. He also spotted a huge metal giant and a smaller streak of motion over across the way. "Oh, these guys." he thought with a smile.
  24. "I understand. If you guys wish to leave, then leave. But at least put me in there. I- I would like to see what Vergyl has to say." Ferro shifted his weight. (Silver, it might be a good idea to go read the weapon section of my signup. It has all the workings of the D-ppendage there.)
