Once Upon A Time -- General Discussion
What intrigues me the most is the tease that it will largely take place in The Enchanted Forest but overall the direction is risky. Over half the popular characters and all of the popular couples are going to be gone and it's basically the Emma/Henry thing all over again with Henry and a daughter he didn't know he had. I'm betting Violet is the mother. I do believe the casting of the adult Henry was pretty much perfect and the daughter seems very charismatic.

First of all, I'm going to edit my review a bit because I didn't consider the spoiler tags. I couldn't have said this better and have nothing to add.

Once Upon A Time -- General Discussion
The Dark Swan had its intriguing elements, particularly her interactions with Merida but overall was a roundabout of gimmicks. Hook being tied in as a second Dark One which felt abrupt, by the way, and Emma going behind the heroes' backs just so it could land back at the starting point with Rumple and be virtually forgotten left it a bit wasted. Now, the season 6 finale. WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD! Here is an interview with the show's creators that teases a bit about the 7th season: http://tvline.com/2017/05/14/once-upon-a-time-season-6-finale-answers-season-7-spoilers/2/ It's official that Jennifer Morrison (Emma), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Josh Dallas (David), Emilie De Ravin (Belle) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena) are NOT returning for the 7th season: http://www.blastr.com/2017-5-13/things-are-shaking-seventh-season-once-upon-time?__source=Blastr_Vayner_Syfy_Twitter&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=onceupon&utm_term=organic_audience&utm_content=organic The latter two did express interest in continuing their roles but were told that the roles are no longer needed. It was actually the opposite case with Morrison, she was given the option to continue her role but declined.

Who's your favorite Disney Mother?
Kala. She raised a child who in her society was different in spite of the criticisms she received and that she'd made room in her heart for someone else's child after she'd just lost her own was incredible. I also love Mrs. Potts and Eudora, Tiana's mother in 'The Princess and the Frog' because they're such nurturing and heartening mothers. A couple of side notes: 1.) Who is Sina? 2.) It's up for debate that Mother Gothal is a legitimate mother, she was never Rapunzel's legal guardian, she was a kidnapper who hardly acted as a mother figure and Rapunzel's not realizing that doesn't make a difference. She didn't know any better. You must not watch a lot of Disney films to not know that. It's not an Easter egg. This comment made me want to -- I want to see the new live action film so badly.

Once Upon A Time -- General Discussion
If she wasn't planned the whole time, there would have been no way to avoid some plot holes when she was incorporated as she was, and I hope she wasn't pre-planned because then it's just sloppiness. The life Emma was subjected to by the curse, in a place where her savior's magic didn't exist and in a situation in which theoretically there was no hope does fit The Black Fairy's calling card and bringing about that isolation is what she's doing again now with the curse she just cast at Emma's wedding but the redundancy is still an issue. On the other hand, since Emma is being written off perhaps it is successful this time and she's killed. There is no confirmation that she's supposed to leave behind a daughter next season as you read.

True. Since the Black Fairy sentenced Rumple to his fate as the Dark One, she could indirectly be held accountable for his popping up and manipulating virtually everyone else's story and somehow she had to have made sure he'd inherit her curse to give to The Evil Queen. I'm having a hard time with the reason she needed the curse to be cast but perhaps she couldn't return to the Enchanted Forest apart from being summoned, the opening she uses to steal a baby only allows her into the real realm so she needed to relocate the Enchanted Forest there to reunite with her son and get to Emma.

True, though I believe it was established that even she doesn't know. It just appeared in her closet.

I can see that. Hope was the exact reason Mary Margaret gave the enchanted storybook to Henry. Random note: it's a shame if the Disney films don't exist I'd love to see Hook's reaction to finding out that the Disney Peter Pan depicted him with Black Beard's appearance minus the beard.

Sweet. Do tell.

So then the question is where do the authors of the fairy tales get the stories from? It can't be a coincidence that they wrote true stories they had no idea were true.

Now that would be kinda awesome. I'd be interested in that as a reset concept. I was just thinking that might be so but it's been years since I've seen the first season.

Interesting question, it would be most sensible if Disney films didn't exist in OUAT since their stories are implied to be unknown outside Storybrook. Neither would their original texts which are far more morbid. Ex. - Sleeping Beauty is raped while in her enchanted sleep and impregnated with twins. - Neverland is actually Heaven, hence age not existing. - Snow White was 7 years old. Since such events/concepts are nowhere near accurate in OUAT, who the hell would see them that way?

I concur. I was intrigued as well by their having both characters co-exist and I believe Hook would have been brought back just the same as he was in season 5, he's too popular.

Wow. That might have actually been better than his Buffy rip off death in season 5. Essentially that role was actually adapted but with The Snow Queen rather than Elsa and I thought she was rather cheesy.

Once Upon A Time -- General Discussion
I always take statements that are not from proven official sources with a grain of salt and I've responded to the tweet asking for their source. EDIT: I got an instant response. Apparently, Emilie announced it on Instagram. I'm not on Instagram so I can neither confirm nor deny this. What was the "hook dying in season 4" thing?
-
Once Upon A Time -- General Discussion
I have no idea nor any confirmation that it's even true, it was just a fan tweet.

Indeed, just about. Though I saw someone tweet earlier today that Emilie De Ravin was fired.

That does sound about right. Good point.

Though when the first KH came out he was still on Angel, so don't know how he managed that.

Indeed, it's something. He must have been unable to reprise the role because he'd started doing Bones. The pilot of Bones had premiered just 3 months before the vanilla KHII was released in the US.
