Square Enix has just announced their lineup for Gamescom 2016, and among the titles listed is Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Gamescom will be held from August 19th - August 21st in Cologne, Germany. For anyone hoping to attend, you can visit the main Square Enix booth (Hall 9, B31/B41) to play the demo. Both the remastered version of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- will be playable. Are any of you planning on attending Gamescom 2016? Square Enix recently updated their job opportunities in the career section of their website, and some of these new listings are for positions on the Osaka team of Square Enix Business Division 3, which is the team currently working on Kingdom Hearts III. We previously reported on the majority of the listings found on the site, but four new positions on the Kingdom Hearts team have opened up. The titles of the positions and brief descriptions of the jobs are listed below, thanks to R Kane. Interesting to note is the role of the Lighting Artist, which hints at a role in post-production. For those who don't know, post-production usually implies the final stages of the development process, which are used to polish and tweak minor things before development ends. On June 30th, 2016, 25 new story quests were added to the North American version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. This is an important story update, seeing as it continues the story in Daybreak Town and introduces a new character to the Kingdom Hearts series: Ephemera. Hey everyone! As you may or may not know, I have been at E3 2016 representing KH13.com to cover anything and everything Kingdom Hearts-related at the event. I had the opportunity to play the Kingdom Hearts 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- and I would like to fill you in on everything I learned while playing the demo. Enjoy! The first thing to mention is the look - the frame rate wasn't precisely 60fps but it was somewhat close, so expect something close to or exactly 60 fps in the final product. The HUD: There is no command deck, so we are back to the command menu from Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. The Focus meter is confirmed to fuel Shotlock commands (which have obviously made a return). The shortcut menu has multiple pages, and they can be used for spells and items. You seamlessly switch between shortcut pages with the D-Pad. MP Charge is back (if you run out of MP, it automatically charges back to full). Gameplay: Combat is very fluid and fast-paced. The combat is not floaty or clunky like it was in Birth by Sleep. Magic Spell Combos are back. If you perform the same magic spell multiple times in a row, there will be a "finisher" magic spell that is stronger than the base spell. Flowmotion is in 0.2 and as far as I can tell, the only way to trigger it is to cast Blizzaga near the ground, which leaves a stream of ice on the ground, and jumping on it triggers Flowmotion. The "parkour" movement is triggered without pressing any buttons. There will be a group of sparkles on surfaces where this parkour action can be performed (such as the rock wall Sora runs up in the Kingdom Hearts III gameplay trailer). Spellweaver has returned and triggers randomly, much like it did in Birth by Sleep. However, once it has been triggered, there is a 30 second timer that starts, and you can activate Spellweaver at any time in that 30 second time frame. Also, when Spellweaver activates, Aqua's Keyblade will glow. Miscellaneous: The Shadow heartless turn into actual shadows when they crawl into the ground and avoid attacks, as opposed to becoming flattened, 2D versions of themselves crawling around the floor. In the trailer, you could see that Aqua can target/lock onto lamp posts. They can be attacked to get HP/MP/Focus orbs, but they cannot be destroyed. The section of 0.2 that the demo consisted of was very vertical. There were a lot of spaces you could jump up to/climb up to. Aqua will grab ledges when she doesn't quite make the jump. Cons: The camera worked brilliantly for the most part, but there were times where locking onto an enemy completely destroyed the camera angle and I couldn't see anything. There are too many lamp posts, so when trying to lock onto an enemy, I locked onto lamp posts instead very often. The frame rate not being 60fps is a negative thing since we learned that Dream Drop Distance will be in 60fps. Overall, the demo was great. It was a good length (about 15 minutes) and I was very happy with the combat. There are obviously things to fix and fine-tune, but I am very happy with it. It looked absolutely gorgeous, and I'm very excited for you all to play it. Update: The mystery medal was in fact revealed to be a new render of Aqua in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue by Dengeki! From 4:00 JST on June 9th until 3:59 JST on June 20th, all players will receive the new Aqua medal simply by logging into the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. Additionally, from 7:00 JST on June 9th until 23:59 JST on June 19th, there will also be a special event board and having the Aqua medal in your deck will attract event coins and treasure chests to help you strengthen it rapidly. The original article follows: Just a week before E3, the official Japanese Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ Twitter account for the game launched a mystery medal campaign. With an image showing the silhouette of the new medal, the Twitter account announced that if their Tweet achieved 10,000 Retweets by June 7th, then they would unveil the new medal. The Tweet reached 10,000 Retweets several hours after the Tweet was initially posted on 6/6 in Japan, and the account announced that the new medal will be released on 6/9 for Japanese players. It will be a part of the daily login bonus on 6/9. Many are speculating that this could be the new look for Aqua in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. It just so happens that the official Japanese Twitter account for Kingdom Hearts tweeted that a new Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue trailer will release on 6/8 at 21:00 JST (8:00am EST, 5:00am PDT). The tweet promises that the trailer will reveal lots of new material, so look forward to it! With a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue set to release the day before the medal is distributed, it is very likely to be a new render of Aqua from Kingdom Hearts 2.8. For a limited time, those playing the North American version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ can obtain outfits and medals inspired by the latest Disney animated movie, Zootopia. From 5/2 - 5/15, a new Event quest has been added. Simply go to Menu -> Quests -> Events to access this new event. The quest involves defeating the Queen Bee Raid Boss for event coins which you can then spend to unlock Zootopia snuggly accessories. They have also included a Raid Bonus Time; Every day during the duration of the event, from 7:00pm - 8:59pm PST, the appearance rate of the raid boss doubles, the AP cost of the quest is halved, and the Lux rewards for defeating the raid boss is doubled. Also from 5/2 - 5/15, two new avatar boards can be purchased for 3000 jewels each. The avatar boards are used to unlock Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde outfits, as well as new Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde medals.The boards can be purchased only between 5/2 and 5/15 but they will remain after the event if you purchase them.Obviously, as you would expect, the Nick Wilde avatar board grants the Nick Wilde medal, and the Judy Hopps board grants the Judy Hopps medal. Square Enix have announced their properties that will appear at the upcoming PAX East 2016 convention, and among these titles is Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. Square Enix claims that Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ will have a "hands-on" presence at their booth (#4044), so it is unclear whether or not announcements for future updates to the game will be made at the event. PAX East 2016 is being held in Boston, MA from April 22-24, and badges necessary to attend the event are currently sold out. Update: The Square Enix Booth at PAX East 2016 will be handing out Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ posters featuring the line "Have you heard of the Ancient Keyblade War?" from Kingdom Hearts III to attendees who play their demo of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ! Update: Now that Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ is out in full swing, the Official KH13 party has decided to have slight member purges for users who contribute very little to the party. As the weekly union rankings come in, we will be removing the bottom 3 players (in terms of Lux collected) and recruiting new people to join the party. That is not to say that if you have been in the party and got removed that you can't join again. If you show improvement, we will gladly add you back! That said, we are now looking to fill 7 spots in our party! We would like to have people of higher levels/Lux collection! Just leave a screenshot of your character in the comments! The staff of KH13 have decided to open up an official party for the entire KH13 community - especially people who wish to seriously compete for a top spot in the leaderboards! Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ is now available in Google Play for North American users. Though the download is region locked, it takes just a few steps to download the app from outside of North America. Please follow the instructions listed below: Enable installing APKs (Android app install files) from outside of the Google Play Store. To do this, go to the "Settings" app, scroll down to "Security", and tick "Unknown sources". Click OK on the popup alert. On your Android device, go to http://www.apkpure.c...ee-apk-download, and in the text field input com.square_enix.android_googleplay.khuxww The APK file should now download! When the download is complete, open the file and click "Install". After this installs, you are done!

Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ is now available in the North American App Store for iOS! Though the download is exclusive to customers with a North American Apple ID, it takes just a few steps to download the app from outside of North America. Open the "App Store" and scroll down to the bottom of the "Featured" page, and then click your "Apple ID" and click "View Apple ID." Click "Country/Region" and then "Change Country or Region." From here scroll down to the bottom of the list, click the option that says “United States" and hit next. Agree with the "Terms and Conditions" and then click cancel in the top left. Click on your Apple ID again, and select "Sign Out". Find the app in the "Search" tab or click here on your device. Click "Get" and then it will ask you to sign in. Click the "Create New Apple ID" option and choose to register with a new e-mail address that is not attached to any Apple accounts yet. When it asks for you to fill out info you need to be sure to have "None" checked in payment options. The rest of the information can be whatever you wish except for the "Postal Code." This needs to be an official code and we used "27613." Your phone number can be your own, as well. Agree with everything and finish the account setup. Now you should be able to enter your passcode and start installing the game!

This Wiki was previously a one-woman project, and then she reached out to KH13 for help upon receiving the news that the North American version of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ was releasing soon. We agreed to help, and have thus launched this new Wiki site. As of right now, the Wiki is not complete. We are currently looking for people to help us with editing the Wiki, so if that is something that interests you, please visit this forum topic. As of April 4th, 2016, when we learned of the North American release date for Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ, the official Kingdom Hearts website has updated to promote the release. A large reminder of the April 7th, 2016 release date appears at the top of the page above a link to the Kingdom Hearts Facebook post of the announcement. Lastly, the site includes the announcement trailer that was first shown at E3 2015. As of right now, there is nothing more to view on the official site, but it may update again once the game is released.

In a recent tweet, Axel/Lea voice actor Quinton Flynn claims that he has not begun recording for Kingdom Hearts III. This comes just a few months after other voice actors in the series, namely Jim Cummings (Pete, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh) and Bill Farmer (Goofy), claim they have finished their recording process, or at least some of it. Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ is coming to North America on April 7th, 2016. The game will be released on iOS and Android. In addition, a new Twitter account was made for the North American version of the game where they will release updates and news. You can follow this Twitter account here. The blog also includes a commemorative drawing from series director Tetsuya Nomura, as well as an interview about the game's ties to the series, both of which you can view below: Thus far there has been no mention of when Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ will release in other regions.
