I prefer to have something that shields there. Or in KH1, fire since circle isn't available. And Aero doesn't need to be reapplied much or in a hurry. So I just menu Aero.

Well, yes. ? the modifier seperates it enough for me.

I like having triangle, as a higher up button be offensive, just feels right to me. Forward, charge, boom boom. so X gets to be more defensive. With cure. (Or potions before getting cure)

And Square is already generally a shield. Since it's also block.

You say that but I definitely block. Quite a lot actually. Heck I've done level 1 runs of the mainline games (other than 3, I should get around to that.)

X for cure always. Generally Triangle for AoE, square for single target or shields. Circle depends.

Ehhhhhhhh. Debatable that it even matters. You end up hitting the damage floor eventually anyway. If you're speedrunning then yeah, the medal. If not and you're newer and want a little more leeyway, early on the champion belt's defenses could come in handy early on.

I don't think you really need one tbh. Nier was based off a joke ending in the first Drakengard game, but you don't really need that context for Nier's story.
