Despite all the issues with the main story beats

Rebirth does more things right than the og

It's why I dont give rebirth complete shit despite my issues with the ending

If any modern ff would do what og ff7 did people would crash out over it and say that the game is trash

Even zack has no real characterization

They have no story at all

3 minutes of screentime is not a short story

Og ff7 is an unfinished game

The Gi get mentioned in the story but have 0 backstory. Shinra rebuilding Nibelheim and then putting actors there doesnt make any sense at all The black materia not having a backstory Gongaga just exists Wutai has no real backstory in the og and we dont get real insight into its culture or backstory at all Holy materia has no real backstory Cetra have no real backstory It's all just rushed and superficial

And no it does not, if anything Rebirth makes the whole thing so much more trivial.

And that is fully debatable. There are some interesting things in Rebirth but plenty of still that just bad.

That was because they didn't have the time so they just ended up being extra characters with some short stories.

What was terrible about the world building in the original game?

Regardless of plot ghosts

If they can somehow do that the story will easily surpass og ff7

Remake trilogy will hopefully fix the terrible ending of og ff7

OG FF7's entire story falls apart in the first 5 hours of the game

Also they fixed Tifa in Rebirth and the story makes sense now

All the lore additions and story additions easily outweight the plot ghost bullshit

And nanaki has barely any real story

Yuffie and Vincent are barely in the game

OG FF7 has terrible world building which got fixed by rebirth

Nah there's a lot of stuff in Rebirth that made it better but also some stuff that made it worse but overall it has gotten better
