I was wondering what the spoiler policies will be upon Japanese release date, because if I get anything spoiled for this game, I will go nuts. First thing, the title selection screens should be considered a spoiler. Second, any sort of cutscene not shown in trailers are a given to be considered spoilers. Any addition to DDD, if there is any (cutscenes, boss fights or Dream Eaters) should be too. The game completion bonuses (PS4 themes) should be spoilers too. And last but not least, the credits, which could include a KH3 tease, should also be considered spoiler. I would like there to be very strong spoiler policies till at least 14 days post-Japanese release, and any of the things I stated above shouldn't be posted in the main page along with other news. I wouldn't mind a news post about a spoiler thread in the forums though. And any Nomura interviews would be okay there too, just as long as a spoiler tag and window are put properly in the interview text. Please make sure this works well, as I'm sure that I'm not the only one that would like this. And I repeat: I request NOT posting ANYTHING of the above even if an important news site such as Famitsu posts it as an article (I remember a website posting HD 2.5's title select screen about a month prior to Japanese release). Anyways, thanks for your attention and try to be good with spoilers! :)

Of course, we always implement spoiler policies upon the release of new games, 2.8 is no exception and we'll take into consideration the community's concerns for what's considered spoilers, and definitely implement one once the game gets closer to releasing. :)

i was just saying it because last time with HD 2.5, the spoiler policies weren't respected and someone posted the credits teasing ddd on the front page. I wouldn't want that to happen again. And this time I guess it would be easier to get done with as it's just for two weeks, so I really hope it goes well this time

I agree with this, although I think the themes you get for completing the games should be fine since it's a given that it's coming with them, unless it contains something really spoiler heavy.

But wouldn't it be nice to see them with your very own eyes after completing one of the games? I know I'd personally like to.

I doesn't really matter to me. In fact If see them before I play the game it will motivate me to finish it (That's what helped me finish Re:com and bbs)

boy, spoiler culture sure is getting out of hand these days.

i mean i agree that anything not public knowledge in regards to the story should be marked as a spoiler, but things like the game selection screen and custom themes aren't spoilers. that's more along the lines of someone wanting to go in with exactly zero information on the product, and if that's the case just abandon the internet until you feel you've fully explored the game.

i feel like at some point, you cross the line between public spoilers (things everyone would consider spoilers such as final bosses, plot twists, etc) and personal spoilers (things you personally want to keep a secret like levels, abilities, characters, music, etc. etc).

when it comes to personal spoilers, you just gotta be on your guard. if you want to go in blind to 2.8 then you should probably steer clear of KH fansites where the conversations will no doubt be focused on it.

it's the reason i'm avoiding anything Persona 5 related. i have personal spoilers i'm trying to avoid and i'll be damned if the internet spoilers another Persona game for me lol

Yeah, but imagine if a VERY important KH3 news comes out and I'm not in the site. An average video game news site wouldn't provide me with as much information as kh13 or khinsider would. That's why I'm a little concerned, and last time with 2.5 I felt a bit disappointed with how they handled things. Nonetheless, I'm hopeful this time it will be different and the forum moderators will do a better job than last time! :)

Well actually the themes would be the ONLY thing I would be ok with being spoiled, as I'm sure it's something that I won't actually remember while I'm playing, so I can take that much as a spoiler. But understand the other things are surprises the KH Team prepare with so much effort for us to enjoy, and I really want to enjoy it by myself and not told or shown by some random Internet guy. Hell, even my friends accidentally spoil me and I rage at them. I got certain final death from Game of Thrones Season 5 spoiled, so imagine how pissed I must have been xD

again, the issue falls into personal spoiler territory. you have to weigh the pros and cons. do you value staying up to date on new KH3 information more than going in blind to 2.8?

i mean if you want to avoid major spoilers then i think you might be safe if you just stick to the home pages of most KH fansites and ignore the forums. i doubt a final boss spoiler would be posted as News.

or maybe stick to twitter? i imagine you would be able to get spoiler free news that is right to the point from following the KH13 twitter. all you need is a headline and bam you're up to date.

bottom line is, spoilers are risky business and the only sure fire method to avoid them is to stay off the internet. that's just the sad truth. people consider a lot of things to be spoilers which is why it's so hard to police that sort of thing. you just gotta know the risks and be prepared to face them.
