But yeah,they treat him like a god(that theme lol) because he knows all the extra deck summoning methods, which isn't such a big deal irl.
Though Synchro and Fusion don't get the same treatment as XYZ. Only extremely genius people use Xzy.

Which is actually pretty funny since Xyz is the only summoning method that doesn't require special cards(fusion spells/effects for fusion, and tuners for synchro), and pretty much the best summoning method, since they can be used in any deck. 

So using them is pretty easy, even back in the 5D's area there are lot of moments you have 2(or more) monsters of the same level.

Of course using them effectively is harder, and the irony is that the stars dude didn't use them effectively at all.
