Heya everyone, hope you're having a fantastic day. Anyway, a thought just crossed my mind, and it could be a possible connection between X and the current timeline. I'm on the go right now so I can't really look up if there's already a similar thread, so if there is please point it out to me and I'll go post this there. Same for things I missed, I'll happily admit if I mess this theory up, I just wanna try and make some sense of all of this.
So I was re-watching Back Cover and in the scene where Gula reveals his role to Ava, he talks about the traitor, "the one who bears the sigil" and about the "inevitable betrayal".
Obviously, not far fetched, that sigil probably equals the "X", we get to know that much in DDD.
Here comes my thought; Luxu (mind the X) is the traitor, but indirectly. To pass as a traitor he would have to disobey the Master, I know, and I also know that he succeeds with his role because 1. the Master points it out and 2. No Name is passed down until it finds its way to Xehanort. So it has to be something else, and I believe, that it's something Luxu - or any of the other foretellers for that matter - had no control over, which would make it "inevitable". I think that one of Luxu and his "worthy apprentice's" successors was the Master of Eraqus and Xehanort. And since Eraqus rules the Land of Departure, I believe that he was meant to be the next to wield No Name. That's speculation, but having it up there on the wall made it seem so important (referring to the KHIII trailer) I can't bring myself to believe the Master would give it to Xehanort, the "worse" student (well, not if it became a custom to just give one pupil the task to protect and the other to travel the world with No Name and the box).
Anyway, assuming No Name was meant for Eraqus, it'd be wrong for Xehanort to have it. Maybe something happened between them, we've seen them fight, Xehanorr killed Eraqus even. And that's my point, I believe that Xehanort betrayed his Master by taking the blade that wasn't meant for him; so his Master didn't fulfill his role properly, which in turn also betrayed the order given down by Luxu.
That'd also explain why the traitor isn't revealed in X. It just doesn't happen in this era.
I see some sort of 'reasoning' for the Dandelions to exist in this as well. The Master says that they have to focus on what comes after the war, because they can't change that it'll happen. That's why he tasks Ava with gathering strong wielders;he knows that down the line Xehanort will come and try to start a new war, so maybe he sees the Dandelions as a force that'll rival Xehanort and keep another war at bay? I believe I read somewhere that Yen Sid had a different Master than Eraqus and Xehanort, which means there had to be other wielders around. Maybe just a former fellow student of the other Master, but maybe someone who got their Keyblade passed down by the Dandelions. The Kingdom Key also shares a strong resemblance to Starlight, which Ephemer and Skuld use, and they are Dandelions...
I really hope this makes some sense, I tend to overlook the most major things sometimes. This would actually give a tad bit more relevance to X than it has now,in my opinion. But what do you think? Is it reasonable or just wishful thinking on my end?
