Five teens are best friends. The Five Candies, as they called themselves. When they were younger, they'd made their favorite candy their nickname, and soon the Five Candies, a group of tightly knit friends, was made.

 

Soon, though, after a traumatic car crash and many fights, they're broken up. They refuse to speak, and deliberately ignore each other. By now, they've found other cliques, other activities, other things to do on Friday nights.

 

They still think of each other, though, and won't forget anytime soon. Tentatively, an invatation is anonymously sent out by one of the Candies, suggesting they all get together again and try to make up for what's been lost.

Five Candies,

Do you guys remember that name? Do you remember laughing and making up our nicknames in third grade? Do you remember how much fun we all had together? Why did we let anything come between us? Next Friday... movie night? Like we used to? Show up in the teacher's lot at five like we usally did.

 

Though they all want to see each other... will things ever be the same between them again?

Cassidy met the other of the Five Candies when she was in first grade. For her, that was as long as she could remember. After the weekly movie nights and all the things they'd been through, Cassie was sure that nothing could tear them apart as she headed in to high school. Of course, now, they are long broken away. She thinks often of their old friendship, but she'd never dreamed any of them would ever have another movie night, or ever even wave in the halls at each other again. When the note is sent out, well, it's more than she'd ever hoped for.

"Hey!" her mother called from the bathroom. "Can someone go check the mail?" Due to the absence of the house, Tricia sighed as she stood up.

"I will," she responded, though it was quite lazy. Upon opening the door, Tricia walked over to the mail box and opened it. "Okay, let's see..." she murmured as she walked back, browsing the envelopes. "Bills, bills, ad, bills..." She stopped at a peculiar envelope. Sitting down, she opened the envelope to find a letter inside. She began to read it.

Five Candies... she thought, as though it was a foreign word. It had been so long...

"The teachers' lot...?" she mouthed to herself. It was a safe walking distance from her own home. Leaving the mail on the kitchen table, Tricia went ahead and set out for the lot.

Azura was sleeping on her bed when she hears her cellphone alarm go off.She turned it off and she sat up and stretched."Azura,go pick up the groceries please."Her mom says."Coming,coming..."Azura says.She lazily gets out of the bed and changes clothes.She brushes her theeth and brushes her hair.She walks down the stairs to be gretted by her dog."Hey there Neku."Azura says as she pets her.She walks to her mom."Azura,go and pick up the groceries please."Her mom says."OK."Azura says.She picks up her cap and walks outside.She walks around and passes through the park.She looks around to see kids playing.She gets to the groceries store.She goes to the counter."The usual please."Azura says.Then she waits for her groceries to be ready.

Cassidy's alarm clock wailed 99.5 XM. "Nugh..." She murmered, burying her face in her pillow. "Stupid morning..." She grumbled, yanking the covers around her head. Suddenly, though, Cassie bolted upright in bed. "I HAVE AN ALGEBRA TEST TODAY!" She jumped up, quickly yanking on a bejeweled tank top and jeans. She madly tore papers from her sparkly binder, rhinestones flying in the messy jumble she was creating. "Ah-ha," Cassidy proudly held up the paper she was looking for. "Re-tests are always exactly the same as the first test," She giggled, and then her face fell slightly. Tucked neatly into the inside pocket of her binder was an envelope. The only thing that hadn't been violently ripped from its place. "What's this...?" She opened in carefully, expecting an interim report she'd forgotten to have signed, but instead, found a letter. Cassidy wasn't sure whether to smile or gape. A... meeting?

Amu had gotten the same letter in her mail this morning.

She waited at school, occupied with her phone more than the cold morning breeze. She sighed and closed her phone, shoving it cooly in her pocket.

"Haven't heard of that name since way back when..." She said to herself, thinking about the good times they had in the past.

 

But those days were over now...

Cassidy paused for a moment, just staring at the letter. She swallowed, and spun wildly to run downstairs. "Mom! I have a-a test I have to make up! I need to get to school now!" "You didn't mention this earlier?" Her mom sighed in exasperation. Cassie's heart was racing. "Please? We've really got to hurry." With a sigh, her mom nodded. "Get inside the truck, Cassie,"

 

Cassidy waved faintly goodbye to her mom. From here, the school looked deserted. The tires of her mom's truck squealed as it sped from the parking lot. She hiked up her backback, and swallowed the metal-like taste in her mouth. What if this was some kind of prank to mess with her? What if someone was waiting for her to show up? Cassidy swallowed, and turned the corner into the teachers lot. Exactly one car was parked. Exactly one person was standing there, jacket bundled tightly around her, stuffing her cell phone away. "Amu...?"

Amu's eyes widened in surprise. Her head shot up and she stared, her lip open just a little.

She remembered this girl. What was her name again..?

A puff of warm air sliped through her lips as she whispered, "Cassidy..?"

She was that girl. One of the Candies.

Was shethe one who sent the letter..?

The girl gave Azura the groceries and Azura paied for them."Thanks.See ya next week."Azura says as she walks back home.She putted on her MP3 and started to listen to music ignoring comepletetly the outside world.She sang along with the song." 'You would not belive your eyes,if ten million fireflies.Lit up thee world as I fell asleep...' "Azura sang.She decided to take a small shortcut just around the school.She looked at the school loking for nothing in particular when she suddenly saw two...familiar faces.She just steared and turn off her MP3.She shook her head."No way..."Azura says as she saw two of her...old best friends,talking to eachother.

It had only been about eight minutes before the school was in Tricia's sight. At this point, she felt nervous. What if this wasn't such a good idea? She considered going back home, but she had already come so far. She might as well go ahead and see what this was all about.

By the time she had arrived, she saw that a couple of people were already there. ... Oh my God... she thought as she had finally identified who they were. It's... So, this is what the letter was about. Someone's trying to get us all back together. The very thought enlightened her, but also scared her.

Cassidy swallowed. She could hardly believe that any of the Candies would've shown up. Then again, she reminded herself, she'd shown up. Cassidy felt someone watching her from behind. Still sort of hidden in the early morning shadows the school building cast, was... was... it'd been so long since they'd hung out together. Her name was... Azula? No, Azura. Now she remembered her. Cassidy struggled to find the words to speak--her lips moved, but no words came out at first. "D-Did either of you write that letter?"

Azura just steared at all of them."(I cannot belive this.)"Azura thinks.She looks at them."What letter?I didn't recive any letter."Azura says.She gets closer."Of course I didn't check the mail this morning either.So I really don't know myself.I was just doing my daily shopping when I see...you guys..."Azura explains.She just stears."(This is wierd.All of us hapen to meet like this?There has to be a faul play going on here.)"Azura thinks.She sighs."Well,speak up.If any of you did this,'reunion',speak up now or be quite for ever."Azura says still wondering if it was cuincidence or fate itself.
