Roxas has gone through some deep shit in the Kingdom hearts series. He has made friends that never were so in the first place, lost a friend that he cannot remember, felt betrayed, wanted to become his own person but was fated to return to sora and only wanted to love a normal life. Now tell me: what other lovable character in a certain franchise has gone through some pretty heart wrenching stuff as well? Just to avoid people getting confused I'm talking about Apollo Justice from the Ace Attorney franchise. Now his circumstances are not as bad as Roxas's (at least in my opinion) but his story is pretty sad. He found a job a s a lawyer but eventually lost it and was forced to work for Hobo Phoenix as a lawyer instead and had to deal with his bullshit, lost his mother and father, his best friend was killed, and lost his Foster Father. Roxas's story is sad and certainly is very dark but Apollo's story is quite sad as well. I'm surprised he hasn't went full KH1 Riku and made some stupid decision. (oh wait)

Oh no. Apollo's backstory is much more depressing and a whole lot darker. To sum it up:

-He lost his mother. Fortunately, she isn't dead.

-Both his biological father and foster father are dead

-His childhood friend doesn't even acknowledge him after their reunion.

-He has met and interacted with his mother and doesn't even know it

-He is working with his sister and doesn't know it

-He lost his first mentor in his first case

 

 

That doesn't even come close to being used, losing friends and finding out you weren't meant to exist. Because really, that's all the hardships Roxas went through.
