Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, just as the title of this topic suggests, are you all excited for us to finally have Jimminy Cricket back in Kingdom Hearts III as the Royal Chronicler!? Because if you haven't noticed, after Kingdom Hearts II, all manner of story summarizing has been relegated to just Reports with Jimminy having no hand in them whatsoever! So I think that it'll be awesome to have the Royal Chronicler back in action for Kingdom Hearts III! I dunno, I just always liked that he was writing down all the important events of the games in his journal, ya know?

 

So, you all excited, or are you all indifferent towards Jimminy?

i liked that he had more of a role in Chain of Memories but outside of that i was mostly indifferent towards him. never had to read the entries to keep up.

 

sometimes i'd only scroll through them so that "NEW" icon would go away cause having a dozen of those bothered me for some reason. 

(I mean TECHNICALLY he was a major part of Re:Coded, but that game was light on story in the first place, so ehhhh.)

 

Yeah, I'd like to have him back for KH3. Functionally it was no different than the reports in later games, but I too like that there was a specific character keeping track of things for the party, not just some magically appearing notes in the menu. Ideally, journal entries will go back to being from Jiminy's point of view, and hopefully even more so; it's a little thing, but it makes the game feel a bit more "real", if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure his journal will be back for KH3, so yeah it has me excited I guess. It wouldn't be a numbered title without Jiminy's Journal right?

Of course I'm excited, Jiminy's journal is a staple in the KH series! It'll be interesting to see if they "evolve" the journal features in KH3, since the game and story is so massive.

Lol, yeah, I know what you mean! But I actually liked reading through the entries, since I love to read, it just provided an extra layer of fun with the games!

Haha, yes, I know precisely what you mean! Like, having Jimminy record the events of the game was like peering into what he thought of the situation, and since he was a cricket of many words already, reading his literary works kind of made his character stand out a bit more, ya know? So yeah, I think it's awesome!

When was the Last Time we saw Jiminy's Journal was it II? We need to see The Journal when we get more Worlds and New Stuff.

Yep, II was the last time, though technically you see it again in Re:Coded, but he's not chronicling the events happening in said game, but the journal is central to the plot of it! But yes, I'm sure it's gonna be awesome having Jimminy's Journal again in Kingdom Hearts III!
