At this point in time I'm still assuming Brain is actually Xigbar and believe it or not but i "Think" i have found some definite proof or at least a hint towards the possibility. Now in order to understand what I'll be suggesting we need to go back to WHY i think this in the first place. In KH2FM it was confirmed Xigbar was the one who recruited Marluxia in the Organization within this exact quote: "Xigbar: What about Zexion, what do you Think? Zexion: I think Eavesdropping is intrusive. Why are you even here? You and Xaldin were tasked to recruit new members. Xigbar: As if, I'm doing my job. I'll have you know i found one just yesterday. Mar something. That puts the Organization's count at 11." Now this might seem like a minor detail but considering the time placement this cutscene takes place occurs VERY CLOSE to the beginning of CoM this leads me to believe Xigbar had some part in Marluxia's intentions at Castle Oblivion which i think was "Finding Ventus". Now there isn't really any direct evidence to this but i HAVE found a clue towards it. In 0.2 BBS there is a cutscene With Aqua and Terra (supposedly) which at this point in time has no real explanation to how Terra was there. But i think i found this "explanation". Remember those strange conversations Xemnas had in The Chamber of Repose? It was shown that in that chamber Xemnas was talking with "Aqua's Armor". Now consider this. What if this was HOW Terra communicated with Aqua in the Realm of Darkness? The part of Terra inside Xemnas must talked with the Armor that being the exact conversation Aqua had with Terra in 0.2 BBS. He got the information of Ventus's location out of Aqua too which transferred to Xemnas. Now what does this have to do with Xigbar and Marluxia? Well consider this exact quote: "Xigbar: Once he got rid of Ansem he decided to build a room in the back and talks with someone. But who? For all i know he could be the only one in that room. Zexion: May i repeat myself about eavesdropping? Xigbar: Wasn't Eavesdropping, Couldn't hear what they were saying. Dying to find out what it was though. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it, would ya?" This tells me Xigbar would "Listen in" on these conversations and the possibility of him hearing about "Ventus's location" from that conversation Aqua had with Terra is there. And since this was around the time Xigbar recruited Marluxia it could mean Xigbar passed this information to Marluxia or in this case "His old Friend" so that he can get Ventus for whatever reason, What do you think about this though? Do you think Xemnas's conversations with Aqua's Armor And that weird cutscene in 0.2 are connected?

This could all just be just smoke and mirrors, but then again, you could be on to something. I mean, you're the one that called that Marluxia was from the X timeline, and you were proved right, so I'm inclined to believe that maybe Xigbar has roots connected deeper than we might think, because not everything in KH is at it seems! But for the present, I don't believe he's connected to Marluxia that deeply!

Well, for what we know already is that Xemnas has sent CO Team for different reasons and from those reasons was searching for Ventus, however, the theory behind the connection of 0.2's cutscene and Chamber of Repose has its high possibilities.

 

​Yet, the theory of Blaine being Xigbar would be a little weird especially since we already know the somebody and the nobody being Braig and Xigbar. So how would you tell me that Braig, that used to be on his adulthood back in BBS, is the same person that became a Union Leader 80 years ago?

Let's bring two laws of KH so far as reminders, shall we?

 

- Time-travelling law --> Version of you must be waiting at the destination: Say that he time-travelled, one of the laws of time-travelling is to have a version of you at the destination, would Blaine actually be alive 80 years from the event of Chi? Definitely not and even if he did, he wouldn't be on his adulthood form that we have seen in BBS.

​- Nobodies don't age: Say that he was a nobody the whole time, and since nobodies don't age, he was able to live for eternity, similar to some Lauriam theories, Braig wouldn't have died in front of Xehanort when he got stabbed back in Radiant Garden, not to mention that his heart was released in front of all the viewers. 

 

​Unless you have a different theory on how he is able to live for 80 years, I find Blaine being Braig a bit unconvincing even though the connection between him and Marluxia as what you have mentioned seem to be interesting
