Um, I'm not sure how this is "sad", it more feels like overflowing joy. Like if he's crying at all, they're probably tears of joy, that's it. Sounds like you are too, so if anything you're just really happy to the point of crying. At least that's what it sounds like to me, because everything you talked about sounded like reasons to rejoice, not to be sad.

I think he means it's sad in a point of view where he considered this "his project" like "his baby" but now he has to "share it" such as when a "baby" grows up and gets married and the parents have to "share it" with the wife/husband. I think you get the point.

You are right though should an artist Not know that this is what happens with all of his Work? They are meant to be shared isnt that the whole point of art to show others whats in your mind?and its not like the fandom has ever forced him to writte something he dosent want to have in his story (cant speak for the company though)

Yes he must've known about it but it's still a different feeling from when he first started and the project was all around him and now it's kinda "far away", that's how I take his words and I still think he means it in a good way.
