A movie at the end of Dream Drop Distance shows Yensid giving Riku and MIckey suitcases with new "vestments" that would protect them from the R.o.D. The next time we see them, in the Oath trailer, they have their new clothes and Riku is leaving his broken Way To Dawn in the sand for his "other me". After that we can connect the Frozen trailer's Aqua confronting Mickey and Riku as the next point in the timeline. 

 

I'm wondering if this will be playable in KH3 to some extent, Nomura already confirming that there will be more playable characters other than Sora. This definitely looks like a important part of the story however and it's cool to see Nomura giving us little pieces we can fit together with the story. Please let me know what you guys think or if there are any missing parts! 

I think its 90% for sure that we will play Riku in the Realm of Darkness.

Thanks for the correction! I was recently binge watching all the cutscenes and my memory was a little blurred.     

It would be awesome if we got to play as Riku again for the Realm Of Darkness section of the game! Who knows? It just might be the case that we may get to play through that section with Riku!
