Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, last Sunday, I went to Wizard World Comic-Con, which took place near Chicago, and it was the first time my niece had ever gone to a convention! As someone who has gone to Comic-Cons for the past three years, I knew I had to make it my mission to ensure that my niece would have the time of her life. And she did! We had a blast, and it was loads of fun talking to fellow otakus/gamers/geeks, seeing all the cosplays, all the merchandise on display! It was just great! And I think that one of the most unforgettable experiences for me was definitely getting to meet nine celebrities in person, something I hadn't expected to do!
I met the main four voice actresses for the main four characters of Rwby, the two voice actors who voiced Pinky and the Brain, Michael Rooker of Walking Dead and Guardians Of The Galaxy fame, and the two I was most excited about...
Jason Faunt, aka, Wes! The Red Ranger from Power Rangers: Time Force!
And Naruto's English voice actress, Maile Flanagan!
Getting to meet all of these celebrities was truly something wonderful, and getting to talk to them was a marvelous experience! They are all very kind, awesome, down to earth people, and it felt amazing being able to talk to them face to face!
Meeting Jason Faunt was mind blowing for me, since I grew up on Power Rangers: Time Force! It's the Power Rangers show I'm most fond of, and one that I recently rewatched on Netflix! It was such a good show, and having this childhood icon in front of me was more than I could take. I talked to him and fanboyed like hell, and he was a real nice guy, a humble man who loves his work! Oh, and he's also Leon from Resident Evil! How crazy is that!?
When meeting Maile Flanagan, it was pretty dang crazy! As someone who has watched the Naruto English Dub, getting to hear Maile in person and hear her speak like Naruto was definitely a spine tingling, goosebump inducing moment! She's a person who has lived and breathed the character for so long, and she said that it's a role that's allowed her to express different emotions, channeling those said emotions into Naruto as a character! It's truly amazing what she's done to bring life to this character, and I also remember her from Lab Rats! She was the principal in the school! But yes, meeting her was amazing, and I got an autographed Naruto picture from her! :'D
And when speaking to Rob Paulsen, the voice of Pinky, I also found out that he was the voice of Carl from Jimmy Neutron, another favorite show of mine from my childhood! When he did the voice of Carl to us, I freaked out and was instantly transported back to my childhood! It was so amazing! And well, I told him that he and other voice actors probably get this a lot, but that their work has brought so many smiles upon so many faces for so many years! They'e brought joy to countless hearts, and they've been a part of people's lives, and well, I just thanked them for being those beloved voices that have made us happy! Rob told me that words could never even begin to express the gratitude that he has for the fans for supporting him, and that making others happy is the biggest compliment that he can get. A really humble and sweet guy, for sure! I even asked them for advice on voice acting and everything! It was so awesome!
In short, this was a Wizard World Comic-Con I won't soon forget!
