So today I was searching through KH 358/2 Days OSTs, and I clicked on a video of Xion's Final Battle theme. I looked at the picture shown in the video, and it shows a picture of Xion and Roxas standing adjacent to each other, their Keyblades crossing to make an X. I scrolled down to the top comments and I saw someone say "Lol its the x-blade".

 

Naturally, I scoffed at this. But then it hit me. Xion, being an imperfect replica of Roxas. Roxas, being the product of Sora (and Ventus). I finally put two and two together.

 

I always wondered why Xion's hair was black..and then I remembered Vanitas. Could Xemnas have created Xion, meaning her to be a Replica of Roxas, but instead created a Vanitas-Sora kind of Replica instead?

 

Would this also explain why people viewed her as different things?

 

Think about it. No one but Ventus himself actually knows what Vanitas looks like. It would make sense for Xion to appear "different" to other people, varying on their connection to them.

 

The only two people that met Ventus are the only people who see her as Ventus. Could this be because of her being a Roxas replica, or could it be because of the fact that Vanitas is Ven's complete opposite (but they hadn't seen his face), they saw her as Ventus instead? Then again, Xemnas technically knows what Vanitas looks like (because him technically being MX as well as Terra).

 

This raises another question then. Xemnas' true motives being creating Xion. It is said that she was created as a backup in case Sora and Roxas were useless to the Org. But was that all she was created for? I remember towards the end of Days, she tried very hard to "absorb" Roxas, very similar to how and why Vanitas wanted to "absorb" Ventus. To become whole. Sure, this could be countered, because it is said that she wanted to become one with Roxas so Sora couldn't wake up, thus stopping the Org's plan. But, this would be pointless, because her and Roxas, or the result of their fusion, would still be alive. And, if we follow my Xion = Vanitas Replica theory, it would mean that somehow, this would end up in the creation of the X-Blade.

 

Oh, and one more fact. I also noticed that Xion "dies" almost exactly the same why Vanitas and Ven does. Fading away into shards of glass.

All of this. Plus im sick of people calling Xion a "Roxas replica" its stated very clearly in-game that she's a replica of Sora. No need to get fancy with theorizing about things we already know.

Well, in their defense, Xion started out as a Roxas replica, but eventually became a Sora replica.

 

On another note, Nomura usually gives us what we need to see, what your saying about Xion and Vanitas is most likely bogus, however, Nomura likes to mirror things and show the connections between them. Its likely hes showing the fans that the same tragedies will continue to occur as long as Xehanort's spirt lingers. (also dont take this as me meaning there is such a thing as a MX sentiment. im only using the term to generalize his many incarnations.)

 

Pretty much. The theory has potential, but right now, it's based too much on mistaken info and general assumptions. Say, the hair similarities between the two doesn't mean anything for example. Xion's was just "a perk of the job" and Vanitas actually has black hair for a reason.

Cool theory, but her hair was just black because someone asked for it or something, I think.

Nope. He has Sora's Keyblade because of his connection to Sora, and he awakened the second Keyblade (Ven's) through the pain of losing Xion.

Even if that was his intention, he couldn't have made the X-blade anyways. Besides, that'd be rather redundant, don't you think? The point of forging the X-blade is to get to Kingdom Hearts, yet he was already creating an artificial one :

 

Just a note though; while Xemnas does have Terra and Master Xehanort's memories, he's not the same. Those memories influenced him, yes, but he has his own motives, own personality; he's a completely different person altogether. His reasons for finding Ven are arguably not just to restore his heart and be BFFs again.

it useless..... it all useless Xion die because she was auto absorb RoXas powers and it would have kill him one day so she got him to kill her first (also to wake up sora).

After the final battle with Xion, just as she begins to fade, Roxas asks, "Am I the one who did this to you?" Xion then responds, "No. It was my choice to go away now." I believe this means that she meant for Roxas to defeat her. And the reasons as to why she would do this are right there in the game. Also, I am fairly certain that she was not intending for Sora to never wake up, rather the opposite. Don't get me wrong, your theory could be possible, and I can see it is well thought out, but I just don't think this is a valid supporting reason.
