For the tcg it's brilliant, but it's like they're actively trying to kill the video game circuit

These limitation do make for more strategies and more mechanisms are added, so it's nice to have restrictions for balance.

It firetrucking pisses me off to no end how badly TPCI firetrucked up the sheer brilliance of the VGC circuit

It started ten years ago in 2009, and we had such a terrible system then

There were two age groups, juniors and masters, and anyone over like 15 or so was a master so you had 15 year olds playing 30 year olds and 14 yo kids playing firetrucking toddlers and that's not even the worst part

The worst part about the first few years was that a lottery system was implemented

Berlanti doesn't do anything on the shows except produce them. He gives the roles of literally everything else about the show to someone else, he just slaps his and the company name on it and that's it. Look at Doom patrol, has his name but nothing like any of the other shows

The two generalized age groups were so strange. It definitely could've be refined better.

So a kid would beg their parents to drive them to Birmingham because the UK only had ONE event in the whole season and only top 4 got invites to Worlds, but if their number wasn't called up they wouldn't be allowed to play

Yeah they changed that in like 2010, added a seniors group which is like 11-16

I imagine it's difficult to get selected to play and the locations aren't exactly convenient.

If berlanti gives Green Lantern and Strange Adventures to someone with capable hands and knows what to do, then this will be damn freaking great.

In America the events went like this: you had regionals in a lot of states which got you invites to a national tournament which got you invited to Worlds (if you got top 8)

I've never gone to the VGC spots.

Actually VGC used to be super convenient

Birmingham was such an easy spot to get to for basically the whole country

And get this, the entry was totally free

The online competitions were also used as methods for earning Championship Points for getting into Nationals.

That's only a recent thing tbh

I think it's a good idea though

One of the few good things they've done

Championship points were phased in in the 2014 season

Also, Green Lantern might be getting a budget of 100 million so I really think this will be firetrucking awesome
