Also I get your complaint about One Piece's art. Bunch of friends I got into One Piece had the same thought but they started to like it later on

Whether it was because they got used to it or just because it got better for them, who knows

it's just hard for me to get what's going on, idk

you could try the colored version? Might help you ease into it

Dressrosa is definitely a snooze but what it sets up at the end is more or less worth it

because after so long, you lose attachment to the cast and it all just becomes meh
