i really do need to finish the series/play more of it

Trials of mana is basically octopath in the heyday

And it's getting a remake in April ?

might pick it up, since story wise it doesnt matter a whole lot

It's getting actual budget, unlike the first 2 mana game remakes

no matter how many times i watch this trailer, the backgrounds look sooooooo good

The first 2 mana game remakes look like ps1 and ps2 games

And this looks like an actual modern game

Some of the most basic ass jrpg plot I've ever seen

which is far from a bad thing haha

we need that amongst all the lore cinematics out there

Secret of mana was refreshing to play now though

Current JRPGs tend to either try too hard or have no idea what they're doing

This at least had an objective and did it.

cause we gotta have something explained for every single character and have reasoning behind it

especially the main character and villain

Trails is the only series where I see that done well for the most part

They're firetrucking long ass games that really try their damndest to do that

But even then, a lot of trails villains are pretty shit

tis why my villain is just bad for being bad

man just wants to spread evil across the world for fun

Dq11 does that well

It has a very generic villain that has no depth

But it doesn't need that depth. It's just a catalyst for characters to do shit and he's intimidating

Doesn't really need much else
