I'm not quite sure how your system works, but basically at age 13 we have to study maths English and science plus two more compulsory subjects (normally a language and a computer science thing) so that's the basic five subjects. And then you pick three more at least for a minimum of 8 subjects. Then you get to 16 and leave school and pick any three subjects you'd like to specialise in. I firetrucked myself basically because I chose physics, chemistry and maths, I barely got the minimum 40% needed to get to uni :gandalfwhite:

I picked three really closely related subjects, so I could only do something related to them at uni

we have elementary school up to age 10 where we graduate at 5th grade
unior high up to age 13 where we graduate at 8th grade
high school up to age 17/18 where we graduate at 12th grade

If I could be 16 again, I'd choose maths, geography, history and Spanish

and you aren't forced to pursue any specific subjects then
