They are just comfortable being one or the other

Phase might be the wrong word here

Not sure what to use

But I feel like children are a bit too pressured to "figure it out" as early as possible by peers

Like if someone as a kid grows to like 17 years old and still has those thoughts, it's far more than a phase for them

When sometimes you probably do need a couple years to get to grips with what makes you comfortable

In fact, I think kids should probably wait until 15 or 16

But I see so many stories of little kids transitioning and that doesn't sit right with me ?

Mm, I feel like it's very unpopular to be seen as telling people how to live their life and such ah

Everyones different

Some figure out early in life while others don't

But I do think kids should wait until their late teens, because it could just be a "phase" and it might even make it worse

Yeah exactly

But, 8/9 even 10 year olds, their brains just aren't capable of thinking of long term consequences

Even up to about 13 or 14 really

eh I just feel like people are so careful about how to talk about this issue that they forget children, as capable and clever as they can be, really aren't capable of huge decisions like this

Heh, ironically enough, now I'm 20, everyone just assumes I am a boy and that is what annoys me now XDDD

Karma

I suppose you have to ask yourself, if you had a child of your own talking about and feeling like that, how would you handle it?

It's not easy for sure
