When I read manga, I always have some default voices set in place for characters with certain arche types. Like, cool looking characters always have a soft spoken voice but kinda sharp and so on. But then series like One Piece where I know the voices, I just hear them anytime I read it.

cuz when I'm reading novels and the like, everyone has their own voice

but in manga, it's hard to envision fitting voices for characters

i think it's cuz in novels, i'm basically given almost complete freedom on the intricacies of a character's appearance and the like. With manga it's like trying to search my brain for a voice that might fit

like zoro has a cool deep voice, nami has that typical young female voice, luffy sounds like a dumb firetruck, etc
