i think the only game on switch that i've enjoyed is dq11s and it saddens me cuz it wasn't even a switch game originally :bizDolan:

and octopath feels like a worse trials of mana to me in terms of structure and layout

i was really looking forward to octopath so that saddened me

Octopath has some godly music at least

I enjoyed the game, but it could have been so much better

it really does

i really love the beginnings of the character stories

but when people join together it all feels so lifeless and dull

Yeaaaah, that's my issue with it too

At least Trials of Mana makes it more interconnected

the characters who you don't choose have their own unique parts in the overall narrative as well, albeit minor but they interact with the party

octopath is just like, idk. It just felt super haphazard with nothing worthwhile

Octopath is just you meet new people and then you pretty much ignore them the rest of the game

octopath looks really good and its music is nice

combat is also fun

Octopath is weird cause it was meant to emulate old style JRPGS
but none of them ever did that less of party interaction

but it lacks a purpose for me to play it tbh

combat and style they nailed but as for the party interaction which gave us a reason to care about other folks was just so odd
