Yep

About half

I think the processor generation is also decent and sufficient enough to get you by for a while still.

oh yeah! especially for college it's done me well
i'll be building a full pc soon after i get a good job

A separate desktop PC for gaming?

yeah. This laptop would go to my dad for his business
that would let me record and stream better as well as just play more games in general haha

Hard not to get attached and have to start from scratch settings-wise

Understandable

I still use this and it seems like there's a new model each year, but at least many recent models aren't put out-of-date, making them sufficient and considered to be viable still.

I worry about how updates can affect settings and program compatibility. Plus, I usually keep a lot open and have the w/e I need available on the fly.

It has no CD drive, btw.

most programs that have heavy usage will have compatibility cross versions

that's what i hate about newer laptops, they get rid of soo much

i was on a group project and im the only one who had a Ethernet port and HDMI

im like but whats the point of using a MAC for work if you cant even present your work

Some people use screensharing and bluetooth, I guess.

It really doesn't look like yours has enough space for a CD drive.

I'd have been fine w/ thickness if it meant keeping a DC drive and sleep indicator light.

As for Ethernet, I actually do have an Apple Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter.

Not too inconspicious

I see it has a tray.

I thought it would be a slot.

I still find it amazing that it can fit.

haha same

i do appreciate the work this laptop puts in
it's got all ports pretty much filled minus 1 USB port
and i have a USB extender with an extra 4 ports and those are filled too

i run it as if it was a desktop PC which is always funny when my roommate is like, just bring your laptop when we go places
and im like uh yeah no that wont be happening
he always asks why too ?

Extra cautious

It can easily be stolen, lost, or damaged.

yeah exactly

tech aint cheap
usually can get my laptops to last a min of 4-5 years before it needs some work done or just get a new one once coupons roll in

which is what got me my Lenovo IdeaPad for work

Plus how prone it would be to getting dirty from traveling and food

exactly
that, plus how wired up everything is
yeah this guy aint moving until next week when i move out

It's also comfortable in its spot w/ 10+ things plugged into it. xD
