Luxord doesn't seem to play into it the same; especially since the Re:Mind DLC has him appear in a certain location and Demyx's background got benched just like he did for the showdown.

We're even shown YX having a similar demeanor and there's the fact that YX has vision flashes from his past life come Dark Road.
