So picking up where I left off in

I think KH3 did a lot to try and progress the series forward, without focusing enough on concluding things between certain characters

Having basically every secret report in kh3 be a little teaser trailer for the next KH game was nice, but also a wasted opportunity to explain more about the powers and elements to used in kh3 itself

There's a message from Nomura in either the Character Files or the 3 Ultimania but he says something like

"A lot of thought and emotion went into this story, and hopefully my feelings will be conveyed by the end of it."

And man, playing KH3 my read of the game was

"This dude is sooooo over this saga lmao homie wants to get to Master of Masters and get to him nOW."

Yeah that’s how I basically saw it

I feel like he felt constrained by this Dark Seeker Saga in a way in terms of the story he wanted to tell

He was genuinely tired of the kh concepts that got us here

Which is…..not great for a finale to this “saga”

But remind at the very least fixed a lot of my gripes

So thats why kh3s story felt rushed

Made the finale more meaningful, gave characters who did NOT get enough time in 3 a chance to shine

He said a bunch of weird stuff

Like how he identifies with Xehanort a lot now and Sora is "like his enemy" and how he feels the need to give him sepcrically more and more obstivales like

bro huH?

I respect the way remind was a big old bandage on the gaping maw that was kh3 base version, but It was virtually impossible for them to fix some of the damage that had been done

People often say the Disney worlds and filler and don't matter and I always say "no they're actually always very relevant to the story of that game usually" and 3 is not different, but

While most of the worlds in KH3 were not just movie retelling and did original stuff, like in 1, it really was just killing time til the Keyblade graveyard lol

Nomura and square have always loved their moody protags

One thing I liked in 2 was how you could like, have important story boss fights outside of the end game

Like the 2 Pete boss fights, Demyx and Xaldin aren't even fought in the World that Never Was ya know?

Yeah, KH3 has weird worlds

Why couldn't like idk uhhhh an eager Vanitas clash with Sora in Monsters Inc?

Because the villains are there but they only ever kinda mock Sora and speak in riddles

It’s basically what would’ve happened if kh1 and 2 had the villains ridicule Sora and at the very end of the world, Sora just doesn’t…..fight them

Like Pete and Maleficent doing that makes perfect sense they're doing their own shit but like

It was cool watching Marluxia turn Gothel into a Heartless and thar she was controlling her but like

The organization in kh2 intentionally avoids Sora

Ughhh I hate talking about 3 sometimes cause I end up sounding like one of those generic "it should have been more like 2" fans and I really hate coming off that way 😔

And does their best to get Roxas to reveal himself through Sora when they do encounter him

Only after Sora knows a lot about what the organizations plan is do they start trying to kill him.

Yeah and like doesn't 3 give off the vibe that they want Sora to give into the darkness to get to Roxas? They never expand on that lmao

KH3 felt like

The plot from 3 games tapped together

Which is cRAZZZy cause Nomura was like

"Oh yeah 3D and 0.2 started off as prolouge ideas for 3 lmao"

So homie had 2 WHOLE GAMES for set up 😭
