Isn’t that just like, busted though?

?

I guess the better question is how do you go about getting it?

nah its not busted

you get it after beating riku 1

or during the fight if you are using kingdom key

you can actually do this manually

dream sword just does it for you

and has some nice melee stats

Wdym manually? Does a different button skip the rest of an animation?

if you press square at just the right time you can cancel the recovery

its very difficult though, most people struggle to do it or don't try

Yeah I was thinking square, but damn it’s a timing thing? Is there any easy tell on when it is for each finisher or is it just like right after the damage connects?

generally right as the damage connects, but on the default ground finisher the optimal timing is actually a bit before

most people will just dodge roll out of the recovery, becaue that's faster than waiting and gives you iframes

quick cancelling manually gets a lot harder when you start using multiple finishers at once

So did you just implement finishing plus or can you just put every finisher into a combo at once and have it go like kh3?

there are 2 specific finishers that can be followed up by another finisher

Ripple Slide and Black Hole

if you have them both on at the same time they can chain back to back until you land on a finisher that can't chain, so your combo length can vary

other finishers will end your combo

you can put magic into your combo and use it as a finisher too

Also I’m curious did you remove the whole percentage chance thing from all those final mix finishers?

nah its sitll 30%

those finishers are now Spark Blitz, Black Hole, and Zantetsu Prime

the new animations make them all much better

Is Zantetsuken buffed then? I have memory of it doing like no damage ever unless it triggered the insta kill on certain stuff

zantetsuken does an insane amount of damage

it was just really hard to hit things with it

the animation it had originally is now the basic ground finisher, but i also greatly buffed its range so you can actually land hits with it

So was there a way to land a weaker hit with it? Because I really just remember taking it off because it wasn’t doing anything ?

some bosses are immune to gravity damage

like riku

the "weaker" hit is still huge damage

the strong hit will instantly kill

So wait did Zantet do gravity damage?

it makes xemnas stagger because of that

it's strength-based gravity damage though

it scales with strength and crit, but is dealt as gravity

some true jrpg damage conversion shit

But honestly I remember using it on some basic enemies and it hitting for less than the base finisher so I was always reluctant to use it

you might have been getting crits with the base finisher and non-crits on zantetsuken

I’ll try it again next time I ever play through kh1 for sure

that can make a big difference

kh1 doesnt explain its crit system at all

I dunno, like it makes sense to me now that it could’ve just been never getting critted but I didn’t think about that at the time
