Oof Just best the ending!! And.. well I can genuinely say as someone who is fairly new to FF7, I had an amazing time start to finish, i got out of it what I hope to get out of a Game, just pure enjoyment! But I 100% can understand the hate for the ending.. it could change tons of stuff to a story that has been beloved for like 22 years.. why fix something that ain’t broke?.. so I am concerned that going forward a lot of big moments will be changed.. aka Aerith not dying.. but I’m hoping there is some kind of method to nomura’s madness... guess we just kinda have to wait and see if this is a good or bad change in act 2

yeah i am pretty similar, i enjoyed almost everything

If Aerith doesn't go, it's spitting in the face of the fans

That absolutely has to be in the next part no questions asked

To keep her alive is madness, her loss drives the party forward, gives them purpose, they don't want her to have gone in vain

I do think it'll happen slightly differently to what we expect though

 

I just want characters to die tbh

It's still the first part so they might change it up in the second

But Biggs surviving, ~potentially~ Jessie surviving, as well as Wedge... like, I'm all for happy endings. But this is a gruff world, I want people to die lol

 

Yeah they are too afraid to kill anyone now, I wanted the

plate dropping|| to be absolutely gruesome with people burning and shit, but they are clearly trying to keep the game clean. ||No blood trail in the Shinra Building, no blood on Avalanche members, none on Zack, it's really disappointing. This is supposed to be a gruesome world why do they chicken out of showing blood now

 

lol yea.. that was strange and slightly alarming for what could possibly happen to Aerith... like Nomura has a habit of not ACTUALLY killing people off.. lmao

Things that did not age well

The plate dropping was gruesome. I mean, you didn't see dead bodies but you still felt the absolute shitshow it was. Blood doesn't mean that it makes it darker, it's how it's represented. I agree that the Shinra Building should have been a bloodbath but that's about it.

Then in comes Nomura drunk into the writing room

No, Nomura directed the game with the contribution of everyone who helped him

There were certainly higher ups who could have stopped him if they wanted lol

There's a wide variety of people working on it, including the person who wrote the game

Yeah he had a say in it, but he wasn't the only one

Plenty of directors have been taken off projects.. people really don’t seem to understand that director does not mean ultimate power holder.. like if SE really thought Nomura butchering their original story was a bad idea.. they would have stopped it

In the latest issue of Famitsu Kitase is saying the story decisions were left with Nomura. And chapter 18 reeks of kingdom hearts influence. Even the whisper boss looked like Darkside from Kh dude

They literally booted him off Versus 13. If they think it's too much, they will do it

plus with the size of the game if they thought they were going to lose money I feel like they would have taken him off without hesitation

And there's no KH influence, anyone saying that hasn't played any FF game

The whisper fight gave me much more of a DMC vibe and I wasn’t feeling it
