You tried getting into it and you couldn't

a lotta people didn't grow up with it

You also said you enjoyed the remake more than the og

A lot more lol

So it did something right for you at least

Like in terms of fleshing out events and characters, the remake felt like it had more care put into it

You can try playing the og now, but I don't think it would change anything for you

The plate falling in the original had no impact

Cuz I barely knew anyone

Remake's best aspect is legit

The NPCs

this is making me wonder how I would feel about this game if I had no knowledge of the original or any of the compilation stuff. I never finished og 7, but I had enough knowledge of that, AC and CC.

Really depends on the person

Like I know people who had 7r as their first 7 experience and loved it. As their first FF even

I pretty much forgot almost everything out of og FF7, played it when I was like 9 or so

Same goes with CC which I played after BBS

So like...14 or so

And AC is just a mess that makes no sense with dope visuals

i never had a psp so i couldn't play cc

So I went into this with semi-fresh eyes myself

but i did have a ps1

I did look up some stuff while playing 7R

Like Barret dying

Because I could have sworn he never did

So I got a nice reaction out of that at least

I don't think you're supposed to know who sephiroth is yet if you just played the remake and various other stuff yet

my issue is probably just the way 7 tells its story then

Because like in the original who he is is explained shortly after when the Remake ends so that's probably going to be what part 2 opens up with

Yeah the don't explain who he is really at all

So I think a lot of things in part one you're not supposed to know yet if you're coming in as a new player

I get why they stopped where they did, but part of me wonders if they should have stopped at nibelheim

Or after it rather

I am glad they are saving it, I want that one to be fleshed out properly
