Thoughts on the final boss?

well, bosses

Eh they were tough. I think they were definitely a good note to end on. But I will say that I dread to fight the whispers on hard because they were kind of relentless. Sephiroth was great I really enjoyed that fight. It was nice that the party gradually joined in and I'm not sure what determines who you get or you just never get Barrett to join you for that one but I was kind of hoping I did because I gave him some good materia

The party joining you against Sephi is dependent on who you use in the Whisper fights

Like, use Tifa a lot and she will join and so on

Barret can join but only on the second time, at least from what I have seen

Either Tifa or Aerith joins first

I just felt that when the whispers were split into three at the final phase it just became a bit hectic. Like I was just switching characters all the time which isnt my favourite thing to be doing. Aerith joined me first.

With Barret right after

But I didnt really mind it too much. Tifa is pretty great tbh. Her abilities make it easier to pressure him

Actually she's incredible for the whispers

Cause a lot of her abilities one shot staggered them at the end for me

Tifa is great for getting the % up when enemies are staggered

The higher the % the more damage you deal

Also, I found Counterstance to be really useful against the Whisper trio

Ah see I have to lvl that up. I decided not to equip any new weapons for the final battle and I didnt final the final weapon for cloud till right before Jenova.

Ahh, I kept it up until I reached Sephi and then changed immediately

It's funny seeing the stagger come back. Last time I think I saw it was 13? I dont remember if 15 had it.

Which was perfect cause the space scene with Sephi and Cloud ended with the sword shot

Yeah I dont remember it being too good there.

13 and its sequels kind of used it to the best effect. But that might be because they are more turn based and allow for multiple atks at once.

So stagger dmg was more effective

In 7 most bosses went into their next phase when I got round to staggering them

I haven't played the 13-series so I can't comment on that one

I dont like his new voice either ? but I'm very curious to know what is happening in the background for him? This game is a sequel isnt it? Cause that's the impression I have gotten from it. He doesnt have enough screen time for me to really say much other than his model is nice but he also seems to be alive for longer than he was supposed to be which is interesting.

Yeaaaah, not the biggest fan of his voice. The first two lines he did was just....not good. But I did like his lines afterwards at least, especially when he was carrying Cloud. If they can keep that voice up for the next games then I am fine with the new one. If it's more of the first two lines one...then no.

Square is saying that this is a remake and they will continue the story of the OG, and I believe they will. But who knows, they might change some stuff around.

Theres already been a few things that tipped me off, and well I have seen the material now that the games are connected so it's more if a remake/sequel hybrid

If what I have seen is correct I think it has more to do with

sephiroth from AC who this seph apparently is, but I need to read the actual material first. Though the AC is probably style anyways.
