I actually like that because now I can enjoy the story

at least with Trails, good equipment and better orbs usually can get you by but you'll know based on how much exp you're getting per fight, as it goes down you can kinda tell that you're reaching the "intended" level

yeah it gives trails the same advantage

combat so far feels super balanced

on high difficulty

I actually have to use items and buffs to survive

I burned almost all my rezz items on a sidequest boss

I also love the active elements in the combat. you have positionals and you can dodge telegraphed attacks. it feels super rewarding
