I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

even Tifa's design doesn't look great for a Black mage
a lot of these sets would actually work even with FF7's more modern look. they just decided to be incredibly boring with them Discord Image
even FFX did it better
Tidus and Wakka's jobs are Blitzballer therefore they get sets that resemble a Blitzballer. Yuna is a summoner and WHM therefore she gets a robe that looks like WHM, Auron is a samurai and he wears a samurai armor. same for lulu with BLM or Kimahri with Dragoon. They were way more creative in FFX than in Revelation Discord Image
even Sora looks with his keyblade transformations more fitting than the FIT designs
💀

Tifa doesn't even dress like a monk which is why hers is the best of them all. Because the idea isn't "what if Tifa looks like a black mage" but rather "what would Tifa look like with black mage elements". It keeps her general look the same while adding different flairs.
It still stays true to the character while still being a swap.
Its why Cloud, Barret and Cait look extremel out of character because it just clashes with what their actual design is.
FF7 characters in general aren't designed with their "class" specifically. Aerith doesn't dress like a white mage, Cid is nowhere near a dragoon, Barret is designed after stuff like Mr T than an actual gun man etc etc
Cloud is a warrior design, but its from FF7s take on their classes so its similar. Which makes it even more bizarre he has a warrior class that's not only extremely ugly, but its just the complete opposite of what he already has going on.
This, Tea, is one of the reasons FF7 og was cool and awesome by the way
Not just when it came out but in general.
But you know what the problem is Otti?
Square doesn't know what FF7's identity should be and they never figured it out over 30 years 😔
Should it be more sci fi than fantasy? Should it be completely urban? Should it be wacky and serious or just serious? Is Zack a war criminal? Yeah, but we won't talk about it. Are the Turks terrorists who should be tried and executed? Yeah but they're hot and sexy so we'll just ignore what they did outside 2 cutscenes.
Those last 2 aren't related I apologize 😔
Zack aside, those are all things in the og too so I am a bit confused on that statement
oh yeah
maybe FF7 does suck 😔
oh don't get me wrong I agree with that. I just don't think it fits under the circumstance when it comes to actually focusing on "job identity"
Thinking on this, the warrior class really should have been a proper Solider 1st class outfit. Which would also give the other characters their own version of the same thing as apparently they are all gonna share the same classes.
hey that's a good idea honestly
yep that sounds cool
