KH2 wasn't really that much liked

until speedrunners made all their videos

before the KH2 hype BBS was the darling of the KH fandom

Thing is popular so people hate it based off that and nitpick it in bad faith ways they wouldn't otherwise if it wasn't popular/as popular as it is/was.

Maybe in America from a story perspective but I dont remember that lmao

BBS reception online and in the fandom completely changed when BB made his video

KH discourse is nowadays way healthier. 2 is no longer overglazed and gets criticized more often and BBS and DDD get more appreciation again

same for KH3

e33 recently also gets more shit but unfortunately for the wrong reasons

and apparently E33 is therefore bad now

kh2 definitely was not as well received on launch as it is now

base KH2 especially

LOTS was fixed with FM+

people tend to forget that era

the issue with modern KH2 discourse is now that you immediately see who played the game in the way the glazers talk about and who didn't. I fucking hate this term but the KH2 fanbase has shittons of larpers. none of these mfers ever played crit lvl 1 or even the game. They just say it's good because someone told them that it's good
