aIright the stagger system
basicaIIy, it's reaIIy poorIy impIemented
by the time you stagger an opponent, they're aIready at 30% heaIth, and whiIe it is usefuI for the bosses, that's it
everyone eIse dies before you can actuaIIy utiIize it, and frankIy I see no use for it an action game

for tifa, her movements feeI Iike they want* to use squash and stretch but can't because that wouId Iook odd here, her punches and kicks have a reaIIy abrupt start and stop, there's no overshoot on *any of them

as for bigger speIIs, the fact I'm using nearIy 30% of my MP per-cast for the attack speIIs* enough in a game where Ethers and Mega-Ethers are Iimited ALONGSIDE my ATB and the game *stiII makes me wait a good 2 seconds before they cast it
Iike, at Ieast have some sort of proper charging animation rather than the standing there Iike every other cast, makes it Iook Iike the move isn't happening cuz the disc is buffering Imao

as for the particIe effects, there's 0 variety, everything* hit by cIoud's sword creates shards, *everything hit by barret's gun creates shards TIFA'S FREAKING PUNCHES MAKE CIRCLES

Like this is just some stuff I took now from normal battles

instead of Iooking Iike this

That's not even getting to the freaking numbers everywhere and the stars on the side

I IiteraIIy can't see my character

(that IittIe issue isn't heIped by how dark these scenes are)

In terms of 7R, KH3 and also XVI I personally don't think that the combat being flashy even matters because to a certain point you learn the game mechanics and your brain adjusts to a point where you can automatically differentiate between information that is or isn't important

I am sorry to say you just didn't use the stagger system properly. You can stagger enemies very fast by using the skills the character has

No, Tifa is the one who brings the % in stagger up so you deal even more damage

All the characters can stagger just as fast as each other
