FF ditching the numbers would just bring in even more people asking "Do I need to play this and this?" It's so much easier to just say each numbered game is standalone.

the ign preview has really no negative point. I wish they would have pointed out some of the potential flaws. seems like this will be another BotW/TotK case where the gameplay and story + writing are so good that it outweights all the flaws like mid lighting in some cases and potential boring sidequests

Assassins Creed don't have to deal with this as there aren't that many spin offs, except for a handheld or two here and there

but good to hear that the gameplay is excellent

I hope that this and Rebirth will be both excellent games
