in order to do this remake and rebirth just gimped majority aspects of an action game

we had two really well balanced expansions

This isn't a FF issue, majority of 14 players don't give a shit about FF

It just boils down to it being a game dev issue

which is kinda weird LOL

It's an MMO, of course you will get people who don't care about the FF brand

I mean, that's not an issue with the hybrid style, that's just a game dev choice

Preach played all FF games after playing XIV. same for pyromancer and okaymage. all of them were originally WoW players with medium - big audiences

I would go that far and say that XIV has more influence on the entire franchise than 7 now

I am not saying people didn't get into FF thanks to 14, but there are way more ff14 players than there are sales for each standalone FF game

from a money perspective it's already bigger than 7

7 just no longer makes them money

Rebirth proved that

and remake too

getting outsold by XIII and XV is embarrassing

that's thing man
a turn based game is aII about strategy

an action game is aII about reactions and actions


not being abIe to jump is such a disservice to an action game you just remove an entire way to dodge attacks and remove an entire reaIm of combos against airborne (and grounded) enemies

the only people that care about FF7 are mostly ff7 fans and not Final Fantasy fans

the dodge doesn't even have i-frames cuz that'd make the game too easy

and we need everything to be on ATB because then the game is too easy

and aIso your basic attacks onIy do chip damage

It's a great thing Rebirth does a great job of doing both. I don't disagree on the lack of a jump button but it clearly does both jobs.

imagine having this insane setup of "hey we will show you one of the most memorable moments in gaming in 4k" and then your game sells below 3 million

can't wait for KH4 to outsell any mainline FF game

rebirth's air combat is aIright, but I'd rather be abIe to initiate it on command
