From what I am seeing of people who played Fantasian, the writing is the weakest part by far

Everything else seems solid

yes but that's expected. the FF games Sakaguchi worked on never had a really good story

I don't know what he did with Spirits Within but I don't agree with stuff before that

Actually what's funny about that is, little by little over the years they've slowly revealed that Nomura back then influenced the story a lot more than folks knew

I think that's because he never wrote it, he should have gotten a creative credit like he does now
