I burned almost all my rezz items on a sidequest boss

I also love the active elements in the combat. you have positionals and you can dodge telegraphed attacks. it feels super rewarding

P4 was already revealed last year and P6 was shown jackshit, there is almost nothing to see in its "trailer" to get any traction other than its logo

my friends were fatshaming young link. when we watched the direct one of them said "who's that fat kid?" 😭

though it's wild that it shoots to the top of that chart just based on what's likely nostalgia. like, it was all of 5 seconds. hell, i'd even be willing to argue that god of war laufey is so high up because it was 20 minutes of footage (not to mention that they probably also counted the chuds who were hate-watching footage for a female-led game)

not surprised about OoT. it was a masterpiece during its time and shaped the childhood of many people

I don't think we have modern games that come that close. probably gta6 will be one of these games

botw and totk didn't have the same cultural impact imo

compared to OoT

cultural phenomenons kinda dropped off after Fortnite and Roblox

I thought E33 would be maybe one of these games but all the discourse kinda stopped one or two months after TGA. there's no one that really talks about the same about this game anymore

wasn't a lot of it due to how it was "the first" of its kind in a lot of ways? an "open" world with a less-linear progression, the upgrade to 3d models and the like, an upgrade to the combat system, and probably other things botw and totk had their own impacts, but there was no way they could ever hit the same highs just due to circumstance

OoT, Mario, Metal Gear and og FF7 introduced a lot of concepts that were entirely new to gaming. Game designers can no longer replicate this nowadays because everything has been done in some shape or form before

the upgrade to 3D models and gameplay stuff was probably the biggest one
