Sadly none of that here. You can find some talismans that give a slight boost to your skills but otherwise it's all either money or crafting materials

just did atlas at lv34 first try, god i love this game's combat

I only struggled with two hunts in this game

First one I died three times and the other only once

i struggled with the flan one just bc i had just unlocked titan and was trying to firetruck around with new combos lol

but he was just not a fun one to firetruck around with

got the 50k trophy on atlas too lol

Is the NG+ that more challenging than action mode? Action mode was very easy, it just took longer to beat the enemies

i havent gone through it myself but the video they put out about it mentions that you go through the game again but enemy placements and such are different so for example in greatwood instead of a

wyvern it's a chimera in that one spot before the boss

I did the beginning segment until you got to cids hideout and it was still easy. But that's an early segment of the game so maybe it gets harder later

if Atlas is one of the "hardest" in the game then honestly there isn't much else they can do difficulty wise lol

only so much bs you can add to the system before it becomes jank and artificial difficulty battling the gameplay more than the enemy

AHEM MYSTERIOUS FIGURE

There was one story boss fight where i felt like it was getting close to that

But i was also up very late playing it so it might have just been me being tired

After thinking about the gameplay more, I wish they did more with the eikons

The story puts this huge emphasis on Clive

not taking their power but straight up the eikons themselves

and then all you can do with them are use skills and a O move

Would have been great to get specific combos you can do with them

I feel like XVI is the perfect blueprint for future FF games. The zone structure is great but it just needs more RPG elements/rewards

As much as I love the combat system I think using 7R's gameplay is the better move in the future to avoid drama in the fandom. It also helps the rewards because you can add more gear to the world due to multiple party members

For skill trees I still prefer the sphere grid because it combines the best things of 7R and XVI. Stat increases + new abilities

Nevermind that the story also puts a huge emphasis on the elements and they mean jackshit for the gameplay itself

Shiva can literally freeze people but her blizzard spell still has to act like the fire spell

Man i hated the stat increase in FF16. Constantly stopping me whenever i level up just to show the same stats going up by the same numbers and somehow still not feeling stronger.

And the level is just practicality useless

Every zone you go to you never meet anyone that much higher than you

So you never get that "oh shit i should come back later" moment

It's due to the lack of optional zones

Xenoblade solved this by adding high enemies into their zones

it's technically backtracking but you "unlock" new areas at least

😄

or FF12

anyway KH still clears all other SE arpgs

whenthedarknessisjustright

Rebirth has a chance to up it

Remake and XVI made me definitely feel like they have a clear idea where they want to go in terms of their games but they still lack regarding the execution

I hope Rebirth can finally achieve this

Whatever ff17 turns out to be, for the love of Nomura please add party members back

in terms of rpg elements and level design it still feels to me that they are stuck in the ps2/ps3 era

It's a huge gripe i have with this game

I don't even need to control them just have them stick around and actually banter with each other

next game might be a HD 2D pixel game so there's a high chance

Ff15 got that so right

SE should do a lower budget HD 2D pixel game until CBU1 is finished with the remake series. XVI took too much resources from XIV

I would love a pixel FF game made by team asano

I really hope they stop trying to reinvet FF with every game now. Just take octopath as a blueprint for pixel ff games and XVI + Remake series for bigger mainline ff games

best case in rebirth for me is that they will take XVI zones in terms of scale but add more depth to them

and future ff games should double down on this with the same zones + combat system as Remake series

and then alternate between a pixel turn-based game and a remake type game

I would prefer to see them try doing a triple A turn based game similar to Dragon Quest.

oh yeah they could do that too
