Don't think it needs to be anything like that, but some optional dungeons would be nice

the ubisoft style is great as a first attempt but it's not something they should continue imo

 

From what I understand it's a dream???? At least that's waht Aerith said but she was a damn weirdo throughout the whole thing so I don't know if I should trust her

 

All newer ffs have lacked this for a while which is dungeons that are just out in the world with no warning or notice till you find it

But yeah overall I ended this game and I'm just so tired and burnt out lol like yes I care, I'm gonna get part 3, and there's elements I like.

I sort of like how Cloud is maybe between worlds now, and that Tifa actually matters to the plot this time but firetruck man I hated how most of Remake went ignored and unanswered.

 

15 did have that although it was tied to the family weapons

But still optional to do

I remember going into a dungeon in the first area and meeting that samurai firetruck who was like level 40

And that platform dungeon was shit

The rest were optional

Cause the game wanted you to have at least 4 of those weapons

I just wonder what the firetruckin point was. Why

hype up canon divergence but put literal plot points in place that force the orignal canon?

They aren't even being AS meta as they could be about it like MGS2 or something, they're just doing it like they expect us to get it. And yes, WE do, but there's a lot of people that love FF7 that don't and won't. I hate how they wrote the game like that.

Sephiroth and Jenova in these remake games have such a genuinely interesting relationship with metacontextual elements of the franchise that's worth analyzing but they do nothing with it. Sephiroth and Cloud never have a real conversation.

Sephiroth: Cryptic metaphor.

Cloud: shut up! I'll kill you!

There's no "character" writing anywhere- I hate it, it's always been this way, and they ALWAYS do that with these 2. Sephiroth shows up talks shit Cloud tells him to shut up, be jumps up, they clash swords, and people throw money at it.

And this is why they should never re-write what's already written, but they wanted to do more and more just to try and be different from OG

I'm tired man, I'm sick of it- I'm sick of Sephiroth. I'm sick of 7. I'm sick of this carrot-dangaling bullshit, and I'm sick most of all that they don't stick to their goddamn guns and COMMIT to having a different story

The game should have ended after the Jenova fight. FIghting Sephiroth again is way too much of him

I wanted a remake and I am mostly getting that, but these endings are so ass
